I was "absent" for 2 exams (HSC), what should I do

Your teachers will want to help you as much as possible, the assessment booklet may also say something

    FAILED Miserably

Diffuse mode is basically where you think about something subconsciously. We can often find solutions to things when taking a step back and not focusing intently. This is in more detail in the book a mind for numbers I haven’t personally tried the hard jump start specifically, however I have...

    FAILED Miserably

I do full past papers at exam time, during the term I do random qs from wherever to revise stuff eg atar notes, cambridge, etc. Basically learn the content as you go and do extra where you feel its necessary On weekends i typically study in blocks with half an hour breaks mid morning and...

    FAILED Miserably

Past papers in test conditions Seek understanding of concepts rather than memorisation of processes eg integration. This helps apply what you know to unseen qs that are different to other qs you’ve see before Half yearlys are not the end of the world, there is always room for improvement...

    Past papers

You can always be doing past questions to consistently revise new content to make it easier at yearlys. I would do a range of qs including other schools - I like thsc. This becomes easier in y12 because teachers can give you hsc qs randomly throughout the course, and you can set them yourself

    Bad English teacher

I was in your situation in year 9, I gave my teacher a draft and got little feedback before 9/20. What specifically are the problems with your teacher? Do they give the content to the class to self teach or do they give little feedback for drafts, for example? For tutoring, I can’t recommend...

    Can i bounce back?

I agree with a lot of the stuff that’s already been said, but I was just wondering what textbook you use? I would recommend cambridge over MiF

    Donne and W;t

How should I be approaching making my notes for these texts? I understand both the texts on their own but I'm really struggling integrating them and comparing/contrasting them together.

Is it possible to apply for extensions for assignments?

For my school it depends on what the assessment booklet says

    failed prelim ext1 maths exam?

I was in the same position as you at for my first prelim 3u task, I was sick at the time and completely stuffed up and lost ~10% that I shouldn't have. It was super frustrating and annoying at the time, but I tried to identify what went wrong so as I could improve for next time (this also...

    90+ atar

Yea, there are people on atar notes who were in this situation and still ended up with a low 90 (90-92)

    Should I do 12 units or 10?

If its a burden rather than a bonus then I would drop it to gain the free periods and put extra time into your other subjects. However, if you think you want to have 12 as a back up (however you shouldn't plan for an off day) then keep it, however only do this if you can improve your marks...

    Poems for Discovery

It's not long either but I really like 'On First Looking into Chapman's Homer' by John Keats as it captures his transformation through discovery through language and structure

    6 Mark Question

Biopolymers and the need for alternatives to ethylene for the petrochemical industry can also be asked. I agree with the above stuff, I've seen lots of qs about the potential of ethanol as an alternative fuel

    Titration terminology
