    Separation Problems

I am not getting this problem. I know the answer is obvious, but it's just not getting through. "2. How could the following separations be achieved? e) potassium dichromate from a potassium dichromate-ammonium chloride mixture; the solubilities of potassium dichromate and ammonium chloride are...

How do i cope with 15 units!?

I'm surprised the school let you do that many The people at my school who study a TAFE course as part of Prelim outside of school hours don't have to do extra subjects, they just get free periods (well, "study" periods the teachers call them!:p )

three sciences!! is any1 else doin 3??

Yeah, i can't wait until Year 12 Physics. In our first lesson this year, one guy asked whether we had to do the complicated maths on the board (he sounded very scared!). The teacher said that is was Year 12 stuff to do with time travel and he told us a bit about it, but then said we didn't have...

three sciences!! is any1 else doin 3??

I love special relativity! I was reading a book at home about it once at home, sadly we have never studied it at school. The parts of physics I find really boring are generators and stuff, bleugh.

    Help with the pill

You should be fine. It just might make your current period shorter than usual (it will take a few days for the hormone pills to kick in to stop your period), nothing to worry about. I'm sure you're taking it right. Oh yeah, and you're definately not protected yet, as phizzy said, it takes two...

What are our textbooks for then???

I actually was doing those things anyway, as if I would just leave the textbook in the corner of my room, gathering dust until exam time! Thanks for the advice though! I just thought it was funny, going from teachers who make us do nothing but questions from a textbook every single lesson, to...

What are our textbooks for then???

Our Biology teacher gave us our textbooks and said to keep them at home. Someone asked him if they're just for homework then, and he said not really, he just has to give them out because the Bored of Studies or whatever says he has to. What are they for then?! ( I've been reading mine anyway...

College Dilemma - New College or Goldstein?

If I had to choose between them, disregarding finances, I'd choose New College. But a 50% scholarship... that's pretty good.

    B. Med is at Newcastle, right? I want to study MBBS, I know they say B. Med is the same but I'll go for the tradtional one, preferably at UNSW, U. Melb or Monash.

three sciences!! is any1 else doin 3??

I didn't think Bio or any science knowledge was necessary for the UMAT, though it is for the GAMSAT (not that that applies to us at the moment!).

    Advanced English vs. Standard English

I hope the Shakespeare play we study is better than Macbeth. God, that was awful [shudders].

How was your 1st day of school?

Triple and quadruple classes?! My new school doesn't even have doubles, which I think is kind of weird!

three sciences!! is any1 else doin 3??

Yeah. I'm doing Physics, Chemistry and Biology. I'm doing Chemistry because many Med schools require it, Biology because I love it and it was my best subject last year (though Prelim Biology looks like it's going to suck) and Physics- well, for my UAI (yes, I know- don't pick subjects just for...

    We're in year 11!

Apparently at my new school it's a big privilage, now we're in senior school, to be able to bring our bags into science classes, as well as our other ones!

How was your 1st day of school?

I moved here from Victoria. Yeah, some of the year 7's are so little and cute! They look like they should still be in Primary School! Don't tell them that though, I remember the day I started year 7 and one of the year 12's said, "they're getting smaller each year" when he saw us. I told him...
