    Is feminism evil?

    I think such a thing shouldn't exist in the first place. Everyone should be equal. Equal rights, equal benefits, equal punishment. Gender Equality. However at the current time, i do encourage Feminism as i think it is preferably needed, although at this time it is INDEFINITELY a different...

    WSU Chatter Thread

    Re: UWS Chatter Thread Is UWS easier in terms of examinations and assessments relative to USYD, or is it just a rumour? Like is a HD in UWS equivalent to a C(Credit) in USYD. I know UNSW is quite similar to USYD.

    Conics

    I hated those rules, just derive them sin(a) + sin(b) = sin((a+b)/2 + (a-b)/2) + sin((b-a)/2 + (b+a)/2) im pretty sure thats what you need for that question, not this exactly but the principle. like cos(a) - cos(b) = cos((a+b)/2 + (a-b)/2) - cos((b-a)/2 + (b+a)/2) just expand that simplify it...

    HSC 2012 MX1 Marathon #2 (archive)

    Re: HSC 2012 Marathon :) Meh i'm only doing this because i'm bored lol! f(x) = x^n - lnx well you would obviously prove f ' (x) > 0 (increasing for the domain (1,infinity)) f ' (x) < 0 (decreasing for domain (0, 1)) f'(x) = 0 for x = 1 AND for domain (0,1) f(x) > 0 at x = 1 f(x) = 1 for...

    HSC 2012 MX1 Marathon #2 (archive)

    Re: HSC 2012 Marathon :) Well really you can just prove this question graphically ln(x) remains constant, x^n with increasing n, means it "goes up faster", hence if x =/= ln(x) (does not interesect this, then x^2 and x^3 and so on does not interesect) that is graphical explanation of whats...

    Re: HSC 2012 Marathon :) meh i was half asleep at the time i wrote this so yeah, sorry bro. don't know what i was doing. I'll work it out again!

    limits help

    1) (2x +3)/(x-7) question is incorrect! 2)f(x) = (4x^2 - 9)/(2x-3) = (2x-3)(2x+3)/(2x-3) = 2x+3.--> Domain All real x (hence continuous) 3) (x^3 - 2x^2 + 3x + 4)/(3x+5) --> (1/3)x^2 + (11/25)x + 4/5 --> infinity 4)limit as x --> infinity, (sqrt (2x+3))-sqrt(2x))--> infinity - infinity --> 0...

    HSC 2012 MX1 Marathon #2 (archive)

    Re: HSC 2012 Marathon :) Assume x^n = lnx then taking derivatives of both sides n(x)^(n-1) = 1/x therefore x^n = 1/n hence ln(x) = 1/n x = (1/n)^(1/n) ln((1/n)^(1/n)) = 1/n (1/n)ln(1/n) = 1/n ln(1/n) = 1 1/n = e n = 1/e but n > 0 it is not a constant. Hence Proof by contradiction x^n...

    Trolls!!!!! They've taken over Youtube, they've diminished the very fabrics of Facebook and now they have come to take away Mathematics! No MORE! Leave me be. Leave mathematics alone! Go back underneath your bridges and wait for goats to cross. For you shall not envelope mathematics!!!!!

    Deriving the formula - Area of Ellipse

    Equation of Ellipse: x^2/a^2 + y^2/b^2 = 1 y = sqrt(a^2 - x^2)*(b/a) ( by rearranging making y the subject) now area underneath ellipse is the integral from -a to a ( where a and -a are the endpoints of the ellipse, which lie on the x-axis) Area of Ellipse = 2*Int(ydx) = 2*Int(sqrt(a^2 -...

    Multiple Choice

    i think 14 should be D, as i was trying to figure out the answer, i kept alternating between A and D, however then i realised that, the split ring is attached to a rope, which does not conduct electricity and further assuming that nothing was changed in the setup, currents will be produced...
