    How to remember formulae

Personally, for math, I like to learn the proof for each and every formula so I can get a better understanding of when and why it should be applied. Just saying but you get a formula sheet for math, physics and chemistry in year 11 and 12 exams (but using them usually means that you havent done...

Ngo & Sons (Truong's) vs. PEAK vs. Uplift

If you still want to know about the tests in Focus, its to put you in "ranked" classes because one of the classes is 3U with 4U students and they go through content more quickly, you can also switch between classes if you can't come one day but every class goes through the same content in the...

    Complex number question

I think introducing a new constant is a bit risky, especially because I myself tend to mix up the signs and this method better satisfies the "hence" requirement. \begin{aligned}z^3=8i\\z^3-8i=0\end{aligned} Since: (-2i)^3=8i Therefore...

Ngo & Sons (Truong's) vs. PEAK vs. Uplift

In Focus College, they have separate classes for 2U students and 3U students, you learn both 2U and 3U content in the 3U class. As for 4U I decided against going tutor because I wanted to test myself, you would attend a 3U class and have a 4U class at another time. As for fees, its an hourly...

Ngo & Sons (Truong's) vs. PEAK vs. Uplift

I've been to Ngo and Sons, Peak and Focus College. Peak is really good for science while Ngo and Sons and Focus are great for Math. I see Focus College is more fast paced and the teacher is really sturdy but really knows his stuff, he teaches all classes and compiles past paper questions for...

    4U Curve Sketching

When you are given a sketch question with no previous parts as to finding any intercepts, stationary points or asymptotes and neither do they tell you to use addition or multiplication of ordinates, just sketch. How do we approach this, do I show the general shape of the graph , intercepts and...

    roots help

Yeah man, I thought there was only one solution because the question subtly implied it, I got two solutions then looked at everyone else’s and was like, yeah, I’m probably being dumb so I also took one solution, I happened to be rethinking about the question after school so I brought it up...

    Complex Numbers Help

Its wrong, but close. Check the moduli of the vectors, they don’t add up correctly, z1 to z2 is 5 but multiplying by Cis/4 only rotates it, it’s new moduli is also 5, which is incorrect, it should be shorter. I have the correct working out but can’t type it up until I get home, I’ll post again...

    Complex Numbers Help

its an isoceles so you know that the other angles are 45 and 45, you do z1 - z2, then you rotate by 45 degree by multiply cis 45 then divide by root2 bc its shorter side of triangle then add it back to find z3, also do cis-45 and there should be 2 answers for z3

    roots help

FINALLY, TOOK ME FOREVER x^4 -5x^3 -9x^2 +ax +b Sum of roots: -\frac{b}{a}=5 Sum of pairs: \frac{c}{a}=-9 Since the polynomial is monic and we are given it has a triple root x^4 -5x^3 -9x^2 +ax +b = (x-\alpha)^3(x-\beta) Therefore we can make two new equations...

I'm pretty sure we can't find differentiate it 2 times since that's a 4U theorem, especially since this is a 3U question, markers may not acknowledge it. It may be faster but I wouldn't risk it. I'll try work out something that doesn't involve that

    Advice?

EE1 is a lot more fun than Advanced English, they give you a lot more freedom in what you do and what you put in your essays and creatives i.e. they don't force ideas on you all the time

I can't believe that question was also in my 4U test today, but I really shouldn't have been. I stuffed up and put (a,b) instead, lol, lost a mark.

    \frac{z - ib}{z - a} = \frac{x + iy - ib}{x + iy + a} $Should Have been$\frac{z - ib}{z - a} = \frac{x + iy - ib}{x + iy - a} in the very first line, its works out as (\frac{a}{2},\frac{b}{2})
