Ahh I see. A bit off-topic question, but were you always a top student in your junior year classes and also for Year 11 and 12? For example, would you always top the class/grade for English, Science and Math tests back in Year 9-10 and continued to do so in Year 11 and 12?

My teacher told me that we need to memorise Polyatomic Ions for the HSC, so my question was; how many of them do we need to memorise? Usually, people give a select few (maybe 10-15) but those vary from different sources, so how many and which ones should I try and memorise?

Just adding to question 1, in Year 11 - what extra studying would you do apart from homework? Would you just revise over each lesson's content and sorta memorise the content?

What does that extra 2-3 hr consist of? Just revising over all the content learnt throughout the year and such?

Are these tests usually harder than the HSC exam or trials at least?

How does one determine the charge of a Polyatomic ion? My teacher said that we don't learn how to find the charge so it's better to memorise them. But is there a way to determine the charge?

Or is it impossible to find the number of Electrons in a Polyatomic Ion? Is that why people just memorise the common Polyatomic ions?

Right, do we learn about subshell notations and stuff in Year 11 and 12? Also, do the electron configurations start repeating after 32 (i.e. like Pikachu mentioned that 2,8,18,32,32,18 and so on)?

We haven't learnt it in Year 10 yet and I'm assuming we don't. So how would we state the Electronic Configuration of Argon; is 2,8,8 fine? Also, do you know the answers to Question 2 ("how would you find the Electrons per shell of Francium"), Question 3 and 5 (asking you cause you did Chemistry)?
