2020 HSC+ ATAR results discussion Thread

I think of it more like 3-4 hrs because I'm gonna try fall asleep after 12 and if I'm asleep I don't have to wait so it doesn't count + to me the HSC marks are way scarier than atar anyway because once I see them I'll know if I got it or not

I'm gonna wake up before 6am to wait for text message heart attack and I would love to go to bed early but idk if that's gonna happen so maybe I just won't sleep. I def want to see all results as soon as they come out rather than sleep through it.

    NSW School Of Languages

You can watch kids cartoons in the language you want to learn, stuff like spongebob where the voices are distorted and they speak fast is bad and very hard but peppa pig and bob the builder type stuff is very good because they pronounce things clearly and their purpose is to teach kids who can't...

2020 HSC+ ATAR results discussion Thread

I think ppl in SA got their atars today because there are videos on youtube, kinda jealous of them rn because I have to wait another 2 days. Although I don't think of it like 2 days because once you take out the time it takes to sleep, eat and do some basic stuff it's more like 1 day of actual...

    Double Degree Question

An extra year of uni can have a very high opportunity cost, if your 4 year degree can get you a job then by doing an extra year you're not only spending the money on an extra year of uni + spending a year not full time working which would be like 50-60k assuming your salary starts low. I would...

Need guidance on switching subject selection from english standard > advanced

I swapped into a subject in week 3 of Y12 and the 1st assessment was in week 6 or something like that so I think you'll be ok, just try do it as early as you can. Pretty sure in the first 3 weeks of Y11 you can change anything you want (my school was like that)

what adds up to the atar?

Until all of your internals are done it is not really important, what you need to know is your rank at the end of the year and how strong your school performs compared to other schools on average. Your results now can give you an idea of what your final rank will be but in that case, your...

    year 11 and 12 tips

That could work but it would be a lot harder imo because to get 2 terms ahead you would have to put in some serious effort, I have nothing against working hard but idk if it is necessary to be 2 terms ahead. For trials I did just a couple papers per subject and for HSC I planned to do way more...
