I just got accepted into exchange yesterday, and it looks like im off to Berlin School of Economics in 2nd semester. My knowledge of German is pretty low, only knowing basic sentences and phrases (although im picking it up very quickly). Has anyone taken gmn104 and would it enable me to string a...
You'll be fine, the maths is pretty practical, so you can see what's happening which makes it a lot easier. If you get through first year with no troubles, 2nd year although it is tougher, you'll be right if you stay on top of your work.
Macroeconomics is always more interesting than Micro. Econ 111 was boring as hell, I just did Econ204 which is Macro analysis and I thought it was a brilliant unit.
DAVID WESTCOTT IS KING! lol, I loved him, angry old bastard really knows how to drill things into your head. His pure anger and hatred was quite entertaining.
Hmm, my 2nd sem of my first year was a little something like acst101, econ111, stat170 and accg106. I managed to get 2 D's and 2 HD's but damn that was difficult. Econ111 is challenging but if you do econ110 first sem or have a decent understanding of econ you should breeze through it. Same with...
Yeah Germany is easily my favourite country, can't speak German very well, but i'm hoping this trip changes that :D
To be completely honest, i'm not claiming to be an expert, but imagine is MQ did offer exchange to Ivy League universities, the amount of competition would be ridiculous for...
Hey again :)
Firstly, overseas exchange can be a 6 week winter/summer program, a semester exchange ranging from 5-6 months, or a full years exchange where you can attend one university for a semester then fly half way across the world if you wished and attend another university, it's entirely...
Mate, MQ has so many things to do if you just go looking for them. I'm not going to pretend to know about all the extra-curricular activities Sydney has, but if you are worried MQ has nothing, you shouldn't worry at all! It is very rare to go a day at uni without some event happening. If you...
If you're majoring in finance can econ131 still count as a planet unit? I know it didn't for me in my first you, but probably because I am studying app fin/eco? eh, i chose it thinking it would go towards my planet unit :(
Oh and the handbook isn't always accurate. I know plenty of people that only did general maths at school who easily beat people that did 3/4 unit, it's a different ball game at uni, just keep on top of your work and you'll be sweet.
Stat 170 is boring, not hard. If you can keep yourself motivated through the course, there are some pretty easy marks there for the taking. Unfortunately the hard bit is getting over the boredom.
Acst101 is challenging, but it is not hard by any means. If you keep on top of your work, again...
I think that is a pretty unfair statement, I'm going on exchange this year and my application process was made extremely difficult by the amount of quality universities MQ is partnered with, particularly in mainland Europe; Stockholm School of Economics, University of Copenhagen, Aarhus...
You shouldn't have any trouble with general for the first couple of year, as long as you are able to pick up concepts quickly. Once you hit third year it may get tricky though.
Can I just say I often lurk these forums more than I post and if you get advice from Azure on here, you won't get any better from anyone else. What he said here is 100% true, Macquarie being viewed as a "b grade" university comes from exactly that, HSC students who think USYD and UNSW are the...
My mid year break was just under 7 weeks this year, and my mid semester break is aprox 18 days, about the same as first semester, then you get like 3-4 months off at the end of the year.
