best degrees for getting into investment banking???

I know a lot of people like to shoot off anything other than Usyd or UNSW on this board, but App Fin at mq is pretty specialised, and you can double it with a commerce - prof accounting degree, or in my case eco. Also, my mate who graduated from mq with an eco degree maybe a year ago is working...

Degree of Economics and Applied Finance

I'm doing a double of Applied Finance/Economics and I love it. I chose it over Commerce at Usyd and haven't regretted it one bit. The maths is challenging but if you put your head down it's nothing amazingly difficult, I did 2u maths at high school and was pretty average but I haven't had a lot...

    The Woolworths Thread

ok seriously, my groceries manager hasn't hired anyone new for 2 years, i was the last person they hired. Now we are ridiculously understaffed; constantly get called in for extra shifts that none of us want, being pushed into nightfill and nightfill being pushed into groceries, why? who knows...

    returned a book; Library says i didn't

Hey guys, i recently returned a book that I borrowed from the library. A few days after returning it, i get a email from the library saying one particular book was overdue, i returned another three that day. I rang them up, they said they'll inquire into it but nothing was found. I rang again...

    Economics Marathon - 2010

An exchange rate depreciation can have positive and negative effects on the Balance Of Payments. As the AUD depreciated, Australia's servicing costs on foreign liabilities can rise significantly, increasing the outflow on the Net income Account, whilst also decreasing the financial inflows from...

    Past Paper Books

I'm just wondering if there are any books out there that have the past hsc papers with the answers. I have Success One: Business Studies, but Success One doesn't make an eco book, are there any available?

    best method of study?

I tell everyone to take an interest in what they are learning. Put it this way, if you love watching Rugby League, you will remember all the rules, all the players etc etc. week in week out, you will know it all. So what i do for modern, eco etc. is to actually take a profound interest in what I...

    Balance of Payments

So talk about the Current Account and what it is compromised of (Balance of Goods, Balance of Services, Net Current Transfers, and Net Income) and then talk about the Capital and Financial Account and what it is compromised of (Capital Transfers, Direct Investment, Portfolio Investment...

    Bolshevik Ideologies

Yeah, I had an argument with my modern teacher about how what it would be interpreted as, but I personally would see 1917 to be Bolshevik-Leninisim, because Stalin dramatically changed many policies and shifted dramatically away from pure Marxism, and he called himself a Marxist-Leninist, the...

    Bolshevik Ideologies

Correct me if I am wrong, but in 1917, it was more Marxism rather than Leninism-Marxism. Leninism-Marxism is what Stalin described as the Soviet Union's political ideology after he came into power. Trotskyists see Leninism-Marxism as somewhat of a contradicting theory to original Marxism. So in...

How to write a Band 6 extended response in Economics

Do some wider reading, then you will be able to apply the latest economic discussions, data, charts/graphs to your response, so far i have got nothing less than full marks for my responses, it is all about the content you put in and the relevance to the question. Incorporating the wider reading...

To what extent will this affect my ATAR?

Well at the moment, there is a lot of people sitting on the same ranks, i mean at least 50% of the people in advanced are sitting on the rankings 1-4 after those assessments. So is it ranking that determines what i would get rather than marks?
