Need help determining distance from acceleration

thanks for your help...but at the beginning of the exercise, it does say: "This course requires that even problems where the acceleration is constant must be solved by integration of the acceleration function. Many readers will know three useful equation for motion (which includes the one...

Need help determining distance from acceleration

A car moves along a straight road from its front gate, where it is initially stationary. During the first 10s, it has a constant acceleration of 2m/s^2, it has zero acceleration during the next 30 seconds, and it decelerates at 1m/s^2 for the final 20 s. how far does the car go altogether? so...

Just a quick question on ATAR

If i failed (less than 50%) my 2U english school assessments and everyone does well in my school so that i'm practically ranked last after completing 40% of the school assessments, is there still a chance that i can get a band 6 in the final hsc for 2u english? and will i still be able to get...

    Integrating Exponential Function

How do I integrate 2^(log x)? the textbook gave a little hint: "e^(log x) = x, so what is 2^log x?" the hint didn't really help me. :uhoh: please help. thanks in advance.

    A Parametric/differentiation question

    Given the parametric equations x = e^t.cos(t) and y = e^t.sin(t), show that dy/dx = tan(t+pi/4). What i did was: e^t = x/(cos(t) so y=x.sin(t) / cos(t) dy/dx = tan t i'm not sure how to get tan(t + pi/4) please help. thanks.

    Trig Function question

the moon subtends an angle of 31' at an observation point on Earth 400 000 km away. Use the fact that the diameter of the moon is approximately equal to an arc of a circle whose centre is the point of observation to show that the diameter of the moon is approximately 3600 km. Please help. thanks...

    Need help with integration problem

so it says: Sketch y = x^2 and mark the points A(a, a^2), B(-a, a^2), P(a,0) and Q(-a, 0). a) show that the integral from 0 to a of x^2 dx (sorry, can't insert the sign) = 2/3 (area of triangle OAP) b) show that the integral from -a to a of x^2 dx = 1/3 (area of rectangle ABQP) i'm not sure...
