    HSC 2004 Chem Q 29 (a) (ii) - Predict Electrolysis rxns

    Nevermind - that was an easy question: solution -- These are the possible rxns. Rxn 1: K + e- --> K E= -2.94V Rxn 2: H2O + e- --> .5 H2 + OH- E= -0.83V Rxn 3: .5 Br2 (aq) + e- --> Br- E= +1.1V Rxn 4: .5 O2 + 2H+ --> H2O E = +1.23V Compare the E(0)'s...

    HSC 2004 Chem Q 29 (a) (ii) - Predict Electrolysis rxns

    Ok - the question has a beaker of KBr solution and two Platinum electrodes in it. What are the reactions at the anode and cathode? Are they: Anode: 2H2O + 2e- --> H2(g) + 2OH- [E = -0.83 V] Reduction Cathode: 2 H2O --> O2 (g) + 4H+ + 4e- [E = -1.23 V] Oxidation [E(total) = -2.06 V] or...

    B. Sc. (Physics) then M. Engineering (Civil) .. possible??

    I've considered doing that: my original reasons for doing the b. sc., though, was because it was my first choice, it's what i love doing. If i find that I can't get myself employment that i'll like equally as much, at least i'll have my engineering masters to go on to. :rolleyes: I'd...

    B. Sc. (Physics) then M. Engineering (Civil) .. possible??

    Exactly, but what you can do is a number of required units of engineering - and depending on how many units you do, you can go for masters of eng. for 2-3 years.

    B. Sc. (Physics) then M. Engineering (Civil) .. possible??

    I see. Problem solved: here's an email from the university On the second page in the course diagram: look here Depending on how many engineering units you take in the first degree, masters of engineering will take 2-3 years. At least 50 points in relevant engineering study may make you...

    B. Sc. (Physics) then M. Engineering (Civil) .. possible??

    If I graduated with a B. Sc. in Physics, does anyone here know if I would then be eligible to go for the Master of Engineering course majoring in Civil eng. with the degree??? The unimelb website's unclear - the B.sc physics page vaguely says I can go into a range of graduate courses from...

    Experiments You Need to Know

    I want to do a Bsc. (Physics), and I'm considering putting in USyd as a primary choice for my UAC app this month when it opens. But i'm pretty much still very unsure - it seems like people are pointing to Melbourne U and UQ, etc... If you're doing physics at any of these unis, please tell...
