Why does scaling work the way it does?

I sure hope so. Not the popularity, surely? o.O. Is quality of the candidature reflected in English marks then?

Why does scaling work the way it does?

I understand scaling. But why does scaling favour some subjects and shun others? Is it based on difficulty, or candidature, or both? Sorry if something's already been posted about this, but I can't recall ever reading as to why certain subjects scale the way they do. For instance, I kinda think...

I have never let my schooling interfere with my education....

I dunno about high school, but primary school is a bad idea. Kids are too impressionable. I have an extremely bright friend who was homeschooled in primary school, he did SDD in year 9 and got 88 for the course. Since then though, he's just become even more disrespectful of authority, and...

How many hours of study a day do you do?

I don't know how you guys do it...Most I could ever do would be 4-5, but more than that is insane. Quality over quantity, I hope my studying is quality cos I've only been doing 1.5 avg per day =\

    Frankenstein and BR

If there's room for some contrasting, contrast frankenstein's romantic love of nature with the post-modernist lack of anything natural at all (apart from doves) in Bladerunner

    past papers instead of notes.

Funny, I got a similar situation in legal atm...I've done notes for about 2 and 3/4 of topics, but I need to finish family law notes, and get stuck into environmental law notes these hollies. However, with family we had an assessment and I got top, despite not finishing notes...If you have a...

    Private Schools?

Given that private schools account for less than half of all students, I think they'd still outperform overall their public school counterparts...Just at a huge price. If you ask me, doing well as a student would probably have more to do with the family you're brought up in rather than the...

    HSC is rigged... probably

Stop worrying so much. Even if people cheat it'd be a tiny minority. besides, the hsc for most subjects is set out similarly every year, it's not that difficult to predict fairly accurately what will be in exams

Don't Ask, Don't Tell: Is Obama a pussy?

Well it's good to hear you think this is the case...I reckon myself 'don't ask don't tell' is a horrible policy. Obama might be in, and the conservatives might not be the greatest opposition right now, but I just would've thought that the lobbying power of fundamentalist christians would have...

Don't Ask, Don't Tell: Is Obama a pussy?

Obama's less of a pussy than most other politicians of today, of any country. he recently condemned african leaders and claimed they were the main problem that their countries were so poor (something previous presidents failed to do). Obama would lose votes, fundamentalist christian america...

HELP: Which scales better - legal studies or biology?

depends on if you can handle the workload of 10 or 12 better. Neither subject scales well, if I were you I'd choose on what I just said, but also where your strengths lie and if doing bio would be a good prerequisite to what you wanna do in uni. Doing well in a subject can hardly bring you down...

    Scoring 80%+ ATAR

what's wrong with that? The ATAR is a reflection of your percentile within the cohort... Use SAM if you want to know the hsc marks you need. It's more difficult to provide internal marks you'll need though, or the ranks you'll need...Depends on the school
