what is the average UAI for all students who sat the HSC

Average UAI I would guess to be around 60, substantially lower because there's a lot of people at the bottom (kinda explains why the MIDDLE UAI is 68 rather than 50).

2PA=PB 4PA^2=PB^2 No more messy surds. I'll work out the answer later.

How many hours study do you do per night?

6 hours per night is insane. I do like 2 hours per night and I'm 99+. So don't worry. Just get all your work done every night.

HSC subjects? Freaking out about scaling!

You should drop Food Tech over Chem since you're COMING FUCKING FIRST IN CHEM WHAT THE FUCK WHY WOULD YOU DROP THAT?

    4u maths?

E4 is the highest band in Extension subjects. The bands are E2(Band4), E3(Band5) and E4(Band 6). It's assumed that kids getting below Band 4 standard wouldn't attempt an extension subject.

    2009 Preliminary Yearlies Discussion Thread

re: Preliminary Yearlies Discussion Thread Only for MX2, for the rest all it requires is HT approval where the Head Teacher sits down with the Student and talks to them about the Subject and if they think you can do it based on your marks etc you're in. For Maths it's based on top 4classes...

    Drop Ancient or Chemistry?

OMFG CHEM SCALES BETTER. Don't listen to Retards. 98 in Ancient will smack anything sub 96 in Chem, so don't worry about scaling. Ancient makes up for it. Drop Chem, and don't listen to that maths/science freaks. When you're that phenomenally good, you don't need to drop them because of scaling.

    MX1 raw for band 6.

Why is getting 80 not much better than 70? Is it really bunched near the top?

    2009 Preliminary Yearlies Discussion Thread

re: Preliminary Yearlies Discussion Thread I'd assume cutoff is top 90, which it always has bveen, or top 4 classes, so a limit of 96. This is what it's always been. I'd probably get in if it was this. Regardless, I got Chem Prac 1 back, 12/16, so pretty shit, and I got Economics back...

not being allowed to do 4u

Ok, my contribution. Nobody can stop you from doing a subject, they can jsut recommend that you don't do a subject that you may fail.
