HARRY POTTER & THE DEATHLY HALLOWS - thoughts (SPOILERS!!)

I do understand why all the later deaths were almost incidental, it was a battle, you can't sit down and mourn every death during battle a la the Sirius and Dumbledore deaths. But, I don't know, she could've done something. Used the 4 or 5 pages she used for that travesty of an epilogue to...

HARRY POTTER & THE DEATHLY HALLOWS - thoughts (SPOILERS!!)

Yeah I got all teary at Fred's death, too. The deaths were just, on the whole... I don't know, so brushed over. I'm referring, I guess, to the end deaths, not MadEye, Dobby, Hedwig etc, because there was more time to deal with those. Also - if Ginny and Harry had to get married and live happily...

HARRY POTTER & THE DEATHLY HALLOWS - thoughts (SPOILERS!!)

Yeah I completely agree now that you say that. I knew that there was something I didn't like about the whole Hallows thing and that's exactly it. And there was soooo much that could have been done, it just seemed like such an unneccessary and convulted plot device.

Yeah but... posting the ENTIRE BOOK BEFORE IT'S RELEASED is what leads to a few pages being highlighted/people being told what happens dumbass

HARRY POTTER & THE DEATHLY HALLOWS - thoughts (SPOILERS!!)

I don't like that they all got married and lived happily ever after. So I'm ignoring that little '19 years later' epilogue. :s On the whole, it was kind of disappointing, only because I'd been building it up in my head ever since I put down book 6. I'm still going to read it again though, I was...

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - 21 July 2007 (NO SPOILERS)

It is possible she kind of went 'fuck this, I'll be a gazillionare no matter how crap it is, so why bother' and it is real... for the most part it tends to read like the other books, but there's something slightly off, stylistically. So I don't know. And it's not the first spelling mistake to...

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - 21 July 2007 (NO SPOILERS)

I don't think the 'real' one is real. On page 94 it refers to Barry Crouch. So it's either fake or badly edited.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - 21 July 2007 (NO SPOILERS)

Yeah I agree, some of the stuff from even as early as book 3 is quite dark, 5 and 6 definitely had non-kiddy issues in them!

Harry potter 7 - Leaked REAL - HEAR ME OUT

I've sort of scanned through the first couple of chapters and I'm not convinced it's real. Stylistically it seems like someone mimicking Rowling's writing - mimicking it well mind you, but there's something off about it. I could be wrong, I guess I'll see on Saturday - meanwhile I don't think...

    is smoking weed bad?

nah a quarter ounce is on avg $100 and that's 7- 8g right? (depending on the generosity of yr dealer). so if you were to buy a whole ounce, in my experience at least, you would get more for your $40. i couldn't afford $40/day by any means, i'm broke as fuck, but if you were living at home, no...

    Referees for Resumes

last week they checked one of mine when I was in another room doing some testing! thank god I put a real one and thank god it was a good reference :) when I was working in HR - every application I've ever seen that's made it past the initial cull has had reference checks, however this was in a...

    Coverletter

no no no WRONG! i've worked in HR/recruitment and the cover letter is the first thing they look at. it absolutely has to be done right if it's a competitive job. how much detail you have to go into is really dependent on what the job is, i tend to keep them short and to the point. however, if...

    is smoking weed bad?

okay, both sides of that last argument are stupid. not every person who drinks, smokes up etc is an addict/derelict who can only enjoy life through a chemical haze, and not every person who abstains from these things is a socially retarded loser. seriously, there is a middle ground here and if...

no way, maybe if you're studying/live at home, but I can say as someone who neither studies nor lives at home... total unemployment is a deadly, deadly trap.

lying on your resume and getting caught. what are the penalties?

it really depends what you're lying about. for example, if it's a graduate position and you lie and say that you have the requisite degree and you don't, depending on the role, its responsibilities etc they do have the right to take you to court. if it's something stupid like saying you got a...
