    How to memorise English essays?

Can you seriously not think of sophisticated, fluent language off the top of your head? Your brain goes faster than your pen, so your mind is always one step ahead of your writing. The only way to rote learn is to read and write your essay dozens of times. There are no tricks to it if you...

    hsc is making me fat

Sleep is important. If you don't sleep, all those hours of study will be for nothing because your brain will spack it and you won't remember anything.

How to feed myself on $50 p/w budget on food?

Depends on the cut. If you have time on your hands you can buy cheap cuts and cook em down in a casserole. Make 2-3 meals out of it and freeze the leftovers.

    losing weight?

Yeah I find that weights have been doing wonders for me. I am going to rock the shit out of my bikini come summertime. I want yoga for flexibility more than anything, and I do cardio mostly for funzies.

Maybe I should start with hot yoga, then. Work my way up, since I haven't done yoga or pilates in years...

How to feed myself on $50 p/w budget on food?

See, the whole time I've been living out of home we've never been properly poor. Maybe next year, when I'm the only one working full-time. I think the most difficult thing is keeping your groceries down when you need to buy toiletries. Shampoo is expensive.

How to feed myself on $50 p/w budget on food?

Another trick is go home for dinner once a week. I used to let Mum know I was coming and she'd do a roast or steak and chips or something =)

How to feed myself on $50 p/w budget on food?

It's not that difficult to do, you just have to plan your meals for the week sensibly. If you can buy everything for the week in one go, you're more likely to stay in budget. And never go shopping hungry. Use the same ingredient two or three times, so you use it all up and don't throw anything...

Jogs in the morning - where to start?

If you want to get up early in the morning, you need to go to bed early the night before. I get up at 5.30 most mornings to exercise before work, and I know I have more motivation if I just roll out of bed and into my exercise gear. If I tried to exercise later in the day I'd have a whole day...

    hsc is making me fat

To be honest, uni wasn't harder than the HSC, because I learned how to do things properly. I learned that I could juggle work, uni and a social life with good time management. Every year, they amped up the work load, but every year I learned how to cope with it better.

Things that makes you feel good

I agree with cooking. Nothing better than sitting down to a beautiful meal you've made yourself. Exercise. Feels pretty good afterwards. Dancing around. Driving home from work. Especially on a friday. Lying in the sun on a winter's day.

    hsc is making me fat

If you exercise and eat properly, your body will be in the best possible condition to do the HSC. I find it much easier to concentrate when I'm well-rested and I've eaten good food. Now, this is not what I did during my HSC. I pulled all-nighters and didn't eat anything, so I lost a few kilos...

Discussion- Quality of teaching at different schools

Trouble with high schools is that they're full of people for whom teaching was 'Plan B'. Yes, some high school teachers always wanted to be high school teachers and are good at what they do. Some people didn't plan on being high school teachers but are still good at what they do. A fair chunk...

    School Certificate may be scrapped

I support the scrapping. You do NAPLAN in year 9, then you have year 10 off, then you start your preliminary HSC. It was awful HSC practice because it was so damn easy.

What car do you drive? (the new one)

Yeah the reason new cars smash up so easily is because they have crumple zones, so the force is transferred around the driver. Dad used to drive a charger, had a massive car accident and the front of the car didn't crumple, it shoved the engine into the front seat of the car, and the steering...

    wats ur gym routine

Yeah it's not super intense, but it warms me up on cold mornings. And I have noticed that my legs and stomach are more toned, so it's not entirely pointless. Around the time of the City to Surf I always say "Oh we should do the City to Surf next year" and then completely forget about it. But...

    Things that annoy you.

Fucking wrong about that one. It's an Opportunity C class. There are other opportunity classes for kids with learning disabilities- OC = Opportunity Capable OD = Opportunity Deaf OM = Opportunity Mild (for mildly developmentally delayed) OA = can't remember what the A stood for, it was for a...
