Should eng. be a manditory subject?

^ Eng Standard and Eng AOS are pretty simple in my opinion. And without trying to sound overly pro-HSC english, the jump between Yr 10 and uni-level english (even for non-humanities degrees) is too great. I don't feel there's a huge amount of difference between Yr 7 and Yr 10 english. Yr 11...

Should eng. be a manditory subject?

Not true. A great deal of the english HSC syllabus revolves around analysing texts in a particular way for a particular audience (ie the HSC markers). Anyone that takes English or Creative Writing studies up at uni will soon learn that they want you to completely forget the style of analysis you...

    The State Library

I've never studied there, but State Library is so pretty! It's like the big library in Beauty and the Beast :)

    panic panic panic

When really stressed it's good to give thought to why you're stressed. Worried about not getting the UAI you want/need? Write up a list of backup options. Stressed because you don't understand something? Call up HSC advice line, post question on BOS, call up friends. Don't just sit there and...

    SBS - Soccer before study

It really depends on how your study is going. If you're prepared for the exams in advance, there's no reason why you can't go off and have some fun during the HSC :) So long as you get back at a reasonable hour and can get enough sleep before a quick morning-before-exam revision, you should...

    Hating Single Life...

Ah, put me in the "damn it's good to be single" camp. Not that I 'take advantage' of singledom heaps, but it's a stress-free, selfish kind of living where every spare moment and spare dollar can go straight back to you for whatever you want to spend it on. No worrying about how your significant...

    MAS214 - Videogame Presentation

Ah well, you know better now :p (note to everyone else: No matter how tired or angry or upset I look, if you say "Hey Lynn we want you to perform for something" then all my troubles temporarily go away and a happy, bouncy I'll-do-anything-you-want-me-to-oh-yay-isn't-this-fun girl appears :))...

Macquarie's Viral Boy Band - Triad

Ben, if you wanted quiet you should have been there when Mike, me and some other dude tried to recruit mentors during this accounting lecture. You could hear a pin drop.

    yr 10 students query

Re: yr 10 students request It's always worth trying. If you still find it's too tough after two terms (give it that long to settle - the transition from Yr 10 to Yr 11 can be pretty tough), then you can always drop it :)

    The MQ Get Healthy/Study Thread

Heh. I would rather exercise than study. If someone told me they could guarentee a pass for all my exams if I could do 2hrs of exercise every single day, I'd leap at the offer :D

    King Lear HSC06 question

Do. Not. Try. To. Link. Yr 11 and Yr 12 syllabi. One is written by your school, the other is written by the board. Whilst there may be some crossovers, don't assume they will ask the same thing!!! Oh and second word of advice. Don't try and ask "so what's this module about?" type...

Anyone else feel as though they're....

mm I did this once upon a time too. What I did was to plan out all my 'backup options' and write them down on a piece of paper (basically it revolved around getting into the course I wanted, or getting myself into a position where I could most easily transfer into the course I wanted eventually...

    should i be angry??

eesh the possessiveness in this thread is freakin' scary :/ sharnz - in all honesty, I'd put down your friends' indignation to the fact the hsc is coming around REAL soon and everyone is really jumpy about the smallest things at the moment (in a "if it's not all clear, terminate it so...
