a) Ill give you a hint. Expand Sin3x ie. Sin(2x+x) then get the equation in terms of sin, and there might just be a -4sin^3x or whatever it is in there, then rearrange.

If you have anything to do with differentating trig functions then always use radians. Some formulas require radians: A=1/2r^2@ etc. Umm.. if a Q has a restriction or alludes to radians e.g 0<@<pi

yer, alot of the Questions were so unexpected. I was getting 80+/RAW on every other past paper, (HSC) but i dont think i would have got anywhere near that on 2008. I only got 47/50. U got like 49 didnt ya?

yer same, it was Q1 aswell i believe. Usually very very straight forward, no tricks. Alot of poorer MX1 students would have seen the Sin^2x and straight away gone: Cos2x=1-2sin^2x ... sin^2x=1/2(1-cos2x) etc etc When do the BOS notes for 2008 come out?
