yay happy birthday anne! :D ouch, 3-day-headache? Sounds nasty, get well soon mserica! my day today: Breakfast - I think I slept through this or skipped it or something, was up till 2am going through EE2 stuff (their handin date is like, wednesday) and had to wake up 7:30 so a little...

    Oh. My. God

Keep cool guys and gals - there's gotta be at least 7 hours between now and hand-in hour, so you still have time to work ;) (well, except for people working on websites/anything that will register a 'last edited' time on a disk or something) Anyone who said that "everyone finishes easily by...

    someone do a cloudstreet FAQ

heh. There's always one module everyone hates ;) But damn, it'll feel so good walking out of your exam room in a few months, realising that you can finally burn all your notes ;) ... ok maybe not. Be environmentally responsible and put them into the recycling bin. :p

    This mark good?

I don't really think marks alone are a good guide... I mean, all teachers mark differently etc etc, so it's just too hard to tell. Excerpts from your essay are probably the best way to go, failing that what were the comments your teacher made on the paper?

major works in... how did it all go?

Honey, you won't get your marks back until like, December :p In other news, I strongly advise you DON'T post up your MW tomorrow - official hand in date is the 23rd right, so don't post up till at least the 24th. Oh and we should have a "EE2 BOS SHOWCASE OF 2006" thread up in the MW...

The expectations are far too great

I agree with the points raised in this article however I feel it should be stated that in my opinion the Board of Studies is not neccessarily demanding the new 'high level' of responses ("isms" et all), rather they are doing nothing to stop it as it becomes the 'norm' of today. And that still...

Word limit - Over or under?

Why risk loosing marks when you don't have to? :p

New Word Limit Question - Important, please reply

That 10% under or over sounds totally uni-like. I have never heard about it for the EE2 course... am inclined to think it doesn't exist (as if they could be bothered sitting there counting words) however I do think they will mark you down if it is significantly/obviously over the word limit...

warning - don't set ur expectations too high

I'm an MQ student. We're always positive, so long that we've had at least 4 hours sleep and a decent meal in our tummies :p MQ - The Simple Life! :p

    Oh. My. God

ahaha you lucky girl! Maybe you can chill out for a few days then. Watch a movie, read a book... omg, book reading, I've been so busy I haven't been able to pick one up in what feels like months :'( (or what happens is that I keep underestimating my reading speed, and thinking that I couldn't...

    examining journal?

*chuckles* Thanks to finally having a working internet connection, I've emailed it back to you and it should be in your inbox now :) I'm still waiting on that RS, if you want to send it ;) At this point, your priority list should be like this: 1) Get a working MW together. Maybe not...

warning - don't set ur expectations too high

I actually agree that EE2 marking is extremely subjective and it's good for people to be aware of this, however... finding tactful (and appropriate) ways/times to say this is always hard :p I think that anyone who has come this far should be very proud of yourself. Maybe you'll get a high...

How do we have to submit Major Works?

Side note as to footnotes - using these extensively (or even at all) is more or less uni-level referencing and you aren't required to use them :) (this excludes the use of page numbers, of course you should have those :p) Other useful note: Don't put your name on your MW, Journal or RS. Use...

    Oh. My. God

Ah, it seems scary now But trust me, when you hand in other major works, or when you get your Trial results back, you'll start thinking about other things ;)

    Breakdown

hahah glad to know you're feeling better, Dirtydancer! :D If it makes you feel better to know, I myself was a little stressed coming up to my Eng Adv Trials exam (nothing on the scale of the 06ers though, I think... my year was a little laid back ;)). The night before the ACTUAL eng adv exam...

How does one go about improving their essays between trials and HSC

A good tutor can help you a lot :) They may or may not go through sentence by sentence - personally (as a tutor) I'll usually only do this for people who just have minor grammatical issues that need to be pointed out (or, if it is the last check-through before a hand-in assessment). But if there...

    looking for elven formal dress!!!

a good place to start looking is in your local paper - there are usually a few seamstresses listed there :) *it's good if they're local to you, because then it's less trekking around for fitting etc :)

    Outline of an essay

the "subheadings" will really depend on what points you're trying to make. And that's totally an individual thing.
