Haha brilliant :p
We've been playing spot the first year. Basically every girl looking like she spent more than half an hour getting ready and looking lost is being voted as one.
OH you never ever read that first. Your teacher should have told you that.
You just jump straight into Chapter One. With every book you read with an intro, avoid them.
If you can make something cliched absolutely fascinating then it takes a lot more creativity in my opinion.
However, sticking to what you know and making sure it's not cliched is probably a good bet for EE2 kiddies.
Nothing wrong with liking Brand New. *cough*tom who used to love seventy times seven like there was no tomorrow*cough*
I haven't heard much but I freaking loved those six demos that were leaked last year. If the album is anything like them I'll be happy.
If you ever do modernism I think you'll see it in a different light. Until then I don't think you can really fully get it if you're not willing to.
But eh.
Can I ask who your favourite poets are?
*raises eyebrow* You saw nothing about humanity or philosophy in that book?
*exhales slowly* Read it again kiddo.
If you're too lazy to read into things then you're never going to appreciate the greats. Transparency is something for commercial success. Things that actually say something are...
Absolutely.
The rest of you are illiterate idiots who don't understand the absolute beauty of a modernist novel. Especially the Great Gatsby.
LottoX you ever read anything else by Fitzgerald or are you just quick to criticise because you had to study it in schol?
Are you freaking kidding me? The Great Gatsby is one of the most stunning books of the modernist era.
You're all idiots. Actually read it, get into it. It's fascinating.
Same with Truman Capote. His collection of shorts "Music for Chameleons" is fanfuckingtasic.
I also loved "In Cold Blood" and "Breakfast at Tiffanys". Both quite interesting before you see any of the movies.
OH I just finished rereading Catcher in the Rye for about the tenth time yesterday.
I can't believe you haven't read that! Have you read any of J.D Salinger? I would highly recommend his collection of short stories "For Esmé - with Love and Squalor".
