yeah I'm in a similar scenario as you right now although my teacher teaches the content in half the detail needed for a band 6, if you want to drop chem go ahead but if you want to keep it buy online notes and other resources, i recommend HSC in the Holidays for like $40-45 you can get really...

How relevant is HSC chem to university chem?

My chem teacher told my class about one student she used to teach who got a band 5 in chem but won a university prize for chem, how did someone with a band 5 (albeit a high one-88) get a university prize for chem? Shouldn't they have gotten at least a band 6?

    Advice for yr 11 subjects!

in bio make sure you dont just memorise info, make sure you actually understand it and learn every syllabus point in extra detail, more than covered in class. When answering Q's (higher mark e.g.- 5-8 mark) include diagrams and examples- this is what gets marks.

Is it going to be tough getting 95+ ATAR at a school ranked in the 150-200

go to a school with similar rank and always 1-2 people in the 97-98 ATAR range with several others in the 93-96 range so yeah its possible but those people study really hard, also if your at a low ranking school theres a chance the teachers will not cover the syllabus in enough detail and only...

Really low internal mark but really high external mark?

What happens if you get a really low internal mark/ rank and are ranked last in the bottom of your class but you get a really high external mark and get highest mark out of your class (rank 1), is your hsc mark scaled up toward the external or is an average between the 2 calculated?
