    SAT or ACT?

I did quite well in the SATs, never attempted the ACTs. i think you'll have to learn more things for the ACT whilst SAT will require more learning how to answer the questions quickly you'll be fine with the content of the SATs for sure

    USYD Chatter Thread 2016

Re: USYD Chatter Thread - Semester 1 2016 looks like a merger, just like the business school did 15-20 years back with AGSM

Question about the maths involved in Actuarial Studies

its not so much the content, its the way you are taught over the entire year to think analytically and have all the basics of differentiation, integration, algebra etc. drilled into you i suspect you may struggle in first year especially

    ECOS2201 vs ECOS3005

ive never heard of adv/hons units being easier than the normal since scaling was removed - wouldnt think its the case for macro either

    ECOS2201 vs ECOS3005

have heard the exact opposite i emailed the 2901 person about 2001 vs 2901 and he said maybe for the top students theyd do about the same in both, otherwise yes 2901 is harder. i assume the same would apply for macro

Re: USYD Chatter Thread - Semester 1 2016 i wouldnt do it unless you like timed essays. also it varies dramatically sem to sem - our sem the average for the midsem essay was under 50%. but other sems ive heard its been quite doable. we had mark melatos

    USYD Chatter Thread 2016

Re: USYD Chatter Thread - Semester 1 2016 good stuff, probably could have used the space a bit more effectively for study space. also every single table on level 4 is unused and has signs 'only for faculty' pretty bs imo. no ones using them, let us use it! i get reserving some stuff for...

Is commerce at USYD or law at Macquarie more likely to lead to success?

you could look at transferring to usyd law youd need about 75+ to be competitive after 1st year. pretty doable if you pick your subjects right and work hard but your marks will seriously suffer in law. extremely competitive, hard and only a certain % get HDs, Ds etc.

    Commerce Majors

pick whatever interests you business analytics is a very good general degree to make you data/stats literate which is one of the most important skills imo. at work i see communication majors working in marketing have to have at least a mediocre grasp of data. BIS is another good choice -...

    Devices for University

ive found my own lecturers to be pretty good at putting everything online and everythings recorded (at usyd) i think the argument against could be that it reduces the uni culture if people dont actually go very often. but the best way to counter that is compulsory tutes or handing in things...
