I keep seeing throughout the threads that people considered economics their strongest subject, yet were disappointed with their results. I was rather confident with economics but was disappointed. My friend was far stronger in economics than I was and got a lower mark.
Discuss?
Does anyone know the link to the website that shows how many band 6's each school got? I'm assuming it won't be update yet but I'd like the link if anyone has it?
This is from the 2008 HSC Paper
Q14, multichoice
20mL of 0.08 mol L-1 HCl is mixed with 30mL of 0.05 mol L-1 NaOH.
What is the pH of the resultant solution
So I found the n of moles for HCl and NaOH using n = c*v. I then found the different. H+ is in excess.
I'm now such at:
c(excess HCl) =...
I'm sure this has been asked before but... Are we allowed to use it? Like Binomial Theorem and Circle geometry. I've come across possible uses a few times but have always stuck to the 2 unit way of doing it. However, if I did use the 3 unit method (if I forget another way to do it or something)...
I actually do 13, but for the sake of keeping everything simple, if I have 11 units, 1 being MX1, and I do well enough in MX1 that it's going to contribute to my ATAR, how do they split up my the other subject?
I'm just curious.
Discuss the effects of an appreciation of the Australian dollar on Australia’s internal and external stability. In your answer, use the economic information provided.
My plan was:
1.Define Exchange rate
+ Give method of measure + trade-weighted index
2.Explain how appreciation occurs with...
Should you basically be explaining the affect on the audience?
E.g. in "Richard III", Richard is described using beast-like imagery, depicting how "his venom tooth will rankle to the death". This imagery reflects Richard's Machiavellian nature and gives the audience a sense of ambitious...

Seriously?
At my school we're told to write half a page intros to get a band 6. Also, our teacher said we HAVE to write in alternating sections to get a band...
Can someone give me a general idea of how to structure it all?
"Analyse the federal government’s macroeconomic policy mix to address inflation and unemployment in the Australian economy"
This was my plan, but I'm really unsure about it:
1. Intro: Macro economics policies definition for both...
Just out of curiosity. I know different things work for different people, etc, etc...
Personally, I rewrite them as only keywords, then go back over that a few times.
How about you?
i.e. do you just read them, re-summarise, teach them to someone, etc.
Does know of any resources (not just past papers) involving mainly calculation questions with worked answers or examples of how to do them? If so, I'd greatly appreciate any you might like to share, and am sure many others will too!
Is this in the year 12 mathematics course? I just came across it in a past paper (2006) but can't remember doing this since year 11... has there been a syllabus change or is it in here :S
I'm looking through the syllabus now and can't seem to find it.
I have often written this in exams throughout year 11 and 12...
