I'm not sure if this is the right section to post in but here's my dilemma: I'm doing science(geography)/law (2nd year), passionate about the environment but really interested in public policy in general. I'm not really enjoying the science (just doesn't seem practical), and I'm considering...
After completing my first year of science/law @ UNSW and researching and listening to the stories of others, I'm having a dilemma.
I'm quite passionate about the environment and policy, but I'm really not sure as to whether I can make this passion a viable career. After hearing about how bad...
I'm currently a science/law student at UNSW. I chose UNSW over USYD because I initially wanted to do advanced science/law and USYD didn't have the major I wanted to do. But now I don't want to do the major I came to UNSW to do - I've changed to geography, but want to major in environmental...
I'm looking for a relatively cheap ultrabook (<$1000). Basically my 13 inch white macbook still works but most of the keyboard doesn't work - so I can still use it at home with an external keyboard, but I need a cheap replacement for uni purposes. I'm thinking of getting an ~11 inch ultra book -...
I've tried to use the new UNSW email - Office365 i.e username: zID@zmail.unsw.edu.au, password: previous password. I still haven't had any luck logging in - I think it's to do with my password - I'm still using my old one?
I'm a first year science (advanced)/law student at UNSW and I'm thinking of transferring to social research + policy/law. How do I do this and what WAM do I need? Thanks
For an assignment it says this:
"Penalties for exceeding the word limit will be applied as follows: 50 - 75 words excess – 5% of the grade awarded; 76 - 100 words excess - 10% of the grade awarded; >100 words excess - 20% of the grade awarded."
Does this mean I can go over by say 25 words...
I'm a first year doing the assignment and I've never been to a court before. I have a few questions:
1. Can I only enter the room when the session starts?
2. Am I allowed to go to a Supreme court?
3. What etiquette is required?
4. Do you think I should go with someone else if I don't know...
Basically I'm enrolled in science (advanced)/law @ UNSW. I'm passionate about the environment (climate change in particular), and hence I'm planning to major in climate systems science. But my real passion is to apply this knowledge through policy formation + consultancy on a government/company...
To those studying law:
How do you know if you're going to like it? A lot of people have told me that you can only know until you've tried it. Or is there a criteria to determine whether you'll like it?
Thanks
Hey guys this is a bridging course question. Please see attached image.
Three identical blocks are arranged on a horizontal, frictionless surface, as shown in image. Each block has a mass of 1kg. The blocks move under the action of an applied force (F), such that the acceleration is 5m/s...
Can someone please help me with this question? Thanks
A box is placed on the back of a truck and the truck accelerates away. The coefficient of friction between the surface and the box is μ.
i) Draw a free body diagram to identify all forces acting
ii) What is the direction of the...
This is on behalf of my friend - she plans to major in English at usyd. She basically wants to know how to plan her first year i.e she knows that she has to do at least 12 credit points of core english but what else does she need to do/choose from? Thanks
This may be a stupid question, but are stage 1 subjects compulsory, even if one is not a necessary prerequisite for stage 2 + 3 subjects? I'm planning to major in Climate Systems Science which has the following plan structure for Stage 1:
GEOS1701 Environ Systems. & Processes (6 UOC)...
This may be a stupid question, but just to verify, in advanced science is it compulsory to choose a higher level course if we have the option? I.e for my major, they recommend doing MATH1131 Mathematics 1A or MATH1141 Higher Mathematics 1A. Do I have to choose the latter? Thanks
I'm very passionate about environmental law. I plan to do science (advanced)/law with a major in climate science. I am very interested in the science + impacts surrounding climate change, but want to actively make a difference on a political scale. I'm unsure if I want to do law because I hear...
