    general UNSW chit-chat

Yes, I do have the My Applications tab, just wanted to see if everyone else has it too, or only those who might get an offer.

    general UNSW chit-chat

Does everyone else have the My Applications tab on MyUNSW? I've applied for a transfer and just wanted to see if everyone has gotten the My Applications tab and any offer won't be released till tomorrow or if I didn't get the transfer.

    B Planning anyone?

If you do do combined law/planning, would it benefit you as a planner? E.g. if you you get a position where you have to get projects through the development process, would you be able to do the legal side as well as the planning side?

B Planning at UNSW. For the people who have transferred courses, did you receive an offer in the preliminary round or only the main round?

    Transfer Q's

I've gotten my results back for first year. My WAM is 68.375 and my GPA is 5, and I have applied to transfer to a course which had a 2008 UAI cut-off of 80.75. Are my chances of tranferring good?

Anyone see those posters at the Anzac Pde gate today saying something about the devil living in your laptop and cancel your facebook now. Are they some kind of cult?

Social Scince @ UNSW --> Planning @ UNSW

I'm doing B Social Science this year at UNSW and want to transfer for 2009 BPlanning also at UNSW. I'm just wondering what sort of marks I will need to aim for to make sure I have a high chance of getting into BPlanning in 2009. My UAI is 74.65 and the 2008 cut-off for planning is 83.60.

    B Social Science

Thanks for the reply gl. I plan to transfer into planning in the faculty of built environment. Since SLSP1000 is only one 2 hour lecture a week, does that mean they'll mark attendence and give us things like assignments in that lecture?

    B Social Science

gl would you be able to tell me if I enrolled correctly? I've chosen the main one (social science and policy), economics (microeconomics 1), developmental studies (intro to developmental studies) and political economy (intro to political economy). I plan to transfer to a different degree after...

Can someone help with my B Social Science enrolement? I've enroled in SLSP1000 Social Science & Policy (6 UOC), and that's the only thing I have on my timetable. I'm sure there should be more stuff but what exactly do I put in?

    Employment Question Hsc Type

The unemployment rate could be rising at the same time because of structural changes. The structural changes will help economic growth, but will cause structural unemployment to occur since the skills held by the workers made redundant don't match the skills needed by the new industries.

    Raw Band Cut offs

I hope how 80's would align to a band 6. I would have though the aligned marks would be down compared to the raw mark since economics is relatively easy compared to say chemistry or physics.

    Flexible and Managed peg?

What is the difference between a flexible and a managed peg of the currency? I know flexible peg is where the central bank changes the rate once daily closer to it's market value, but what about the managed peg?

Role of: Couts, tribunals and EA

Would this be related to the Prices and Incomes policy? For tribunals you could have something like the Australian Fair Pay Commision who determines the award wages and conditions. Not sure what the employment advocate does? They could be the ones who check the AWA's or something.

how do u measure real GDP

I don't have my forumla sheet right here in front of me but I remember in my trial there was a question which required you to calculate the real GDP in year 2. There was a table which gave you the money GDP of year 1 and year 2 with the CPI of year 1 and year 2 respectively. Real GDP of year 2...

    2006 Multiple Choice q7

Foreign car producers will import however much they will need to meet demand (or they may dump it onto the domestic market). However, to protect local car producers, the government has placed a quota on the amount of cars which can be imported. Say the quota is 500 cars. In this case, the quota...

    2006 Multiple Choice q7

"Quotas refer to restrictions of the amounts or values of various kinds of goods that may be imported" If the quota was increased then they'ld be able to import more cars, but the graph shows the supply has falled, which means they've reduced the quota because the supply of cars has supply of...

    2006 Multiple Choice q7

D would be the correct answer. The supply of cars is down, which means that the quota of cars was decreased, which means less cars are getting imported and local car producers face less competition which pushes up the price for consumers.
