    Intelligence

hmm what sort of intelligence do u look for? witty? academic? general knowledge? social? i know many people who are smart in some of these and horrible in others for me as long as they don't talk like a bogan, i'm fine with respect to intelligence :)

    overloading and GPA

hmm, sure there isn't anyway to like do my standard B science and just maybe pay to do an extra subject outside of the science degree or something of that sort?

    overloading and GPA

hi, i was wondering how GPA is calculated if u do more than the required units per semester. I am doing a science degree and have the standard amount of units required all in my science units. However, i am also taking a language as EXTRA units on top of my science units, I just want to...

    How strict are Pre requisites?

Ok, i got into Usyd B Science(Adv). I want to major in physics, however, i do not meet the pre requisites for PHYS(adv). The pre requisites for PHYS(adv) is either 96 ATAR OR Band 6 Physics. My Marks: 95 ATAR, 88 Physics (HSC) So i'm wondering if they will allow me to enter the...

ATAR Statistics & Scaling Report 2009

i swear i was told that the atar is a percentile of where u sit within ur cohort, so why is there 17% above 90?

    hardworking Vs. intelligence

just my small input, most of the top people on our maths/science side are naturally smart while most of the top people on our english/history side are hardworkers. this can sort of make sense as maths and science is more about grasping and applying concepts which many people can be good at...

    Complex numbers De Moivres thereom

divide both the numerator and denominator by cos^4 @ the cos' will cancel and sins will turn into tans if u get sec then u can use 1+tan^2 = sec^2 btw there is no "i" in there cause ur equating complex parts

    Complex numbers De Moivres thereom

    1. cos4@ + i sin4@ = (cos@ + i sin@)^4 = cos^4@ + 4i cos^3@ sin@ - 6cos^2@ sin^2@ -4i cos@ sin^3@ + sin^4@ equating real: cos4@ = cos^4@ - 6cos^2@ sin^2@ + sin^4@ then use sin^2@ = 1-cos^2@ and ur done 2. equate imaginary 3. use sin4@ / cos4@ EDIT: i got beaten xD

Thoughts on raw mark needed for an E4

does this sound reasonable: according to namu, cutoff will be mid 50s, lets assume 54... according to lazaurus, the distribution of marks is linear within each band if 54 raw = 90 HSC and 84 raw = 100 HSC then every 3 raw marks = 1 HSC mark? 54:90 57:91 60:92 ... 75:97 78:98...

Question 1e... What did you do?

    factorise x^2 out of the square root to get: 1/(x^3 * sqrt(1/x^2 + 1)) then let u = 1/x^2 so the 1/x^3 will cancel OR x = tan@ and u should end up with cos@/sin^2@ i think

    1981 hsc

in uniform circular motion the angular velocity is constant or independant of time so dw/dt will just = 0 and the tangential acceleration is 0, which holds by the definition of tangential acceleration
  19. D

    1981 hsc

well in the physics explanation, the normal acceleration is the centripetal acceleration towards the centre, it is the rate of change of velocity with respect to time with the inclusion of direction the tangential acceleration is the rate of change of the magnitude/modulus of velocity (or...
