How much can a Band 3-4 affect you?

Speaking from experience, a band 4 will affect your ATAR quite substantially (igotb4ineconomics), however it does depend on the mix of subjects, strength of your cohort, as well how well you perform in your b5/6 subjects. A tip however to try and maximise your ATAR, is to focus on the subjects...

    Leniency for atar requirement

Unfortunately an 88 atar is a bit too unrealistic for both UNSW/USYD's standards, however, like as above; look to see where you may be able to obtain bonus points (if possible), or otherwise, pick a slightly related degree and hope to transfer into it 2nd/3rd year

    Advice? Atar + Exams

Yes you are able to obtain an atar score over 70+. Work a little harder at it and it may top around 80+ too! Best of luck for the HSC!

How to effectively study for uni?

I'm essentially in the same dilemma as prodigy. I know from experience that i retain information best when handwriting notes - but then comes the issue of: Can i keep up with the lecture speed/info. I think what i may do is print out lecture slides before the lecture and try and review them and...

Maximising Your Employability Workshop (Saturday 11th March)

Hey Trebla! I am certainly interested, however i get the feeling like the workshop will be centered more towards people who have graduated (with a repertoire of skillsets/experience) or about to graduate with some degree. Will the workshop be beneficial for someone like me who is a first year...

    USYD Chatter Thread 2016

2 weeks before uni officially starts - and im hearing a lot of chatter about how overrated B.Psych is.. I met a few people who just completed a B. Psych at USYD, and they commented on the over saturation of psychologists ( the ones who only completed the 4 years with no postgrad study), and...

Dilemma : Dropping chemistry or biology ?!

Im going to say that if you can endure the hard work, and hopefully pull your rank up for chemistry - it is probably more worthwhile to do it over biology. Chemistry practicals were not my forte either as i found it hard to prepare for, so maybe just stick with both for the time being, and...

How do you study ALL your subjects in one day?

I'm with Thatcher here! I also like reinforcing the days content after learning it at school. Also, it would be advisable to study your weaker subjects more than those you are strong or knowledgeable at. Having really good marks in 4 subjects but flunking the remaining 2 is going to drag your...
