    Denouncement/Confrontation

Rule number one of English Extenstion is: its not what you know, its what you can prove. If you have evidence (which you seem to have) to back up that idea as a convention of hard boiled fiction you can most certainly use it.

    purchase The Big Sleep

    T o r r e n t s :) Your Welcome.

    Crime Fiction

    Its true :(

    Crime Fiction

Funnily enough, that was probably the most realistic scene in my story :)

    Crime Fiction

Very well... A gangster rabbit uses his Colt Commando to detonate sacks of magnesium, blinding an army of body guards and one unfortunate, somewhat misplaced bride. The bride then runs frantically to an inevitable, well depicted death on a freeway.

    Crime Fiction

I thought it was a tank. Though, for the sake of my story, I stated they were burning sacks of magnesium. And no, I am not going to elaborate on that XD

    Scaling ???

So if its impossible to guess why do you think you got 35-40?
  8. T

SO how many pages did you do?

Sorry, but we all know mass of paper = better marks. My paper was of infinate mass, therefore I score infinate marks. How, you say? I started writing the song that never ends at the end of my paper. GG N00BS

How did you find the EE1 HSC Paper?

Genre (Crime Fiction) The picture didn't suit me all that well, luckily I had a specific scene in my story where I managed to squeeze that in. The essay was a little unusual: but I managed all the same. Fairly good exam: nothing too obscure, challenging or strange. :)

    Crime Fiction

Wow, personally I thought it was rather standard. For the creative, honestly, I had a rabbit gangster story and I managed to incorperate that picture. I find it hard to believe anyone could find it overly challenging to include a woman running from fire/explosion/anything. As for the...

    3 text warning.

Yeah. I've prepared 2PT, 2OT and a few oher OT's to chuck in there.

Creative - can we write the beginning of a story?

Complicated question. My story is obviously hard-boiled, which is a clear pointer of crime fiction. There is no exact definition for crime fiction in itself so it is interesting to see exactly how far you can push the genre. For example, one would argue cinderella was a case of crime fiction if...

Creative - can we write the beginning of a story?

I sure have. Many parodies make a specific effort to give away any and all sense of mystery. Ichi:The Killer demonstrates to the audience first who the killer was. Pulp Fiction works backwards in several parts of the movie. I suppose that depends on your definition of mystery, but I digress ;-P

Creative - can we write the beginning of a story?

Well actually those would be the conventions of detective fiction http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Detective_fiction , which are the ones we more or less use for the module because it is so tangible. Crime fiction (from which detective fiction stems) is extremely diverse and almost impossible to...

    Plural of focus

It can be both I think. Foci is more scientific/mathematic though... Maybe. Never thought about it ><

Creative - can we write the beginning of a story?

Then how would you define "crime fiction" and what are its conventions?
  17. T

    Which related texts?

    Omg. o.O :P
  18. T

    Which related texts?

In terms of creative, [in my opinion] the worst thing you could possibly do is walk in with a story that starts with a detective, a murder occurs, and finishes with a criminal being caught. The genre is -extremely- diverse and some of the best CF stories I have read don't even have a detective...
  19. T

    Which related texts?

Max Payne and R.H. Gettaclue in: "Mystery" Fairly obscure texts. My creative is a twist on a famous childrens bedtime story: so if you go down, im going down with you ;-)

Creative - can we write the beginning of a story?

Its hardly about "using all the conventions". You are merely setting yourself up for a cliche if that is your line of thinking.
