I love how all the 3 unit kids come in to jump on every question. Because 3 unit students already practice harder questions, the 3 unit students marks are going to fall less than the 2 unit students, who rely heavily on intermediately toned marks. When you add a greater number of difficult questions, the top 2 unit students and 3 unit students still go well...

I do section 1 in 30 minutes. Sections 2 and 3 in 45 minutes respectively.

Most of it has to do with the quality of your essay. Slower writers usually have more time to reflect on what they are writing: use this to your advantage.

It states it in the syllabus. I've also attempted an essay [plan] for each year and have never seen any specification beyond "use at least one other text". It would be unreasonable to expect students to memorise, what, 7 poem's meanings?

“A journey of one thousand miles must begin with one single step” This is a cliche. Find an original quote ;-P

Its important for the Skrzynecki poems because you need to discuss context. For others, not so much.

You need two. If you are against the issue, cover one briefly.

It has always been a habit of mine to a black pen, with red highlights to emphasise certain words. For example: A metaphor for physical journey. I only use it 3 or 4 times throughout an essay, so the time "wasted" is a non issue. I was wondering whether it was acceptable for a HSC...

Having an introduction prepared really does not help in the grand scheme of things. Practice adapting to different questions, not moulding an introduction.

An interview involves the interviewer engaging the responder with questions, details, opinions, etc. This needs to be redone.

Depends on the nature of the question, however, they cannot mark you "wrong" for doing either. To say it is "difficult to write formally" in the first person is a little strange. If you add details such as "my opinion is" it is hardly detracting from your essay's quality.

Depends entirely on your style. Less in depth or more with less detail. I'd say it just about evens out.

Adapting to the question is better than trying to mould an introduction to fit the question. Also, I question (yes, I am seeing how many times I can use the word question in this sentance to answer the question) the statements you are making.
