Friend played a piano piece of the song I liked the most and recorded it electronically and sent it to me; I was really surprised and think that this has been the best non-bought present ever, its so sweet and nice!

Usually ASAP, unless I'm in the middle of something...or they're asking something that requires some thinking about. If they don't return it within say, 15-20 mins I'll usually put my phone away and won't bother worrying about it for another couple of hours.

Do something that'll take your mind off things and will require concentration, but make sure its something you enjoy. Like many have suggested- Go out with friends. Go and play some sport with friends. Play a multiplayer video/comp game where you interact with other people =D...

Coincidentally, I have someone whose a kinda... 'love interest' as OP posted and acts like that too. I have developed an urge recently to cut her head open and ask her brain what the heck its thinking of me. =/
