    multiple choice...WTF?

Can someone please explain to me question 12 with the experiment repetition. Everyone seems to be going for reliability but i put accuracy for acouple of reasons. Reason 1, our junior science teacher burnt into our head that for every experimental procedure we write these exact words as our...

    General Thoughts on 2005 Examination

The main thing that got me in that test was the first drawing question that was rediculous for me as i hadnt done tech drawing in years 9-10. For the power question i got something like 4.2 slabs so 4 whole slabs which is what alot of people seem to be getting . I dont think we were given enough...

How many pages did you write for Q2?

As soon as i saw the picture of the detour sign i knew that i was in luck. I started off with section 2 and managed to get in around 12 pages from my pre-prepared story which was well suited to the image. Was very happy with my story as well as i had been working on it for a while so that it...

How many answer booklets did you use?

1.5 - 2 booklets on each section getting around 7 words per line. I also felt that the ammount i wrote (1.5 booklets each) was just about the minimum to write as i finished section 2 and 3 in aprox 30-35 minutes each and could have easily made them longer but decided to go short to ensure that i...

a trial MC question i cant do! help!

Yep thanks for pointing out my error i will fix it up :). So the logic approach to this question would then be. Half the mass means 1/2W. Then half the radius means 1/2 multiplied by 4 which gives 2W.

a trial MC question i cant do! help!

The answer is c) 1/2 W You dont really need to use the formula for this one because they give you simple numbers but you can use it if you want to. Can Use F = (Gm1m2 )/d^2 Use made up numbers. For the person give him a mass of 50kg for example and then make up your own planets...

    need help with questions

For satellite question the answer is B) For the astronaut question the answer is C). The satellite question is very simple, you can even work it out from method of elimination because the other answers are completely wrong. Satellite A, closer to earth experiences a greater centripetal...

What hasn't been in recent physics HSCs????

Thats where the summary of the text book and the prepared dot point answers come into play :). DO NOT make the mistake of basing all of your study on past papers, you need to remember that the hsc questions all come from the dot points in the syllabus and the best way to become familiar with the...

What hasn't been in recent physics HSCs????

There is no reason to be trying to predict the test, you are just going to get upset when it turns out to be different to your predictions. Summarise your text books, prepare dot point answers, complete past hsc and trial papers, smash the hsc and be happy :).

Whats your dream UAI.. and what do you think you will get?

At the moment i am yet to decide what i want to study at uni so my target UAI is around 95, which gives me pleaty of oppertunities. Realistically, if i maintain my ranks i will probably get around 86-91.

Other ways to explain rather than RH rule.

Instead of deflecting them with a magnetic field, use electric fields to deflect them, makes for a more sophisticated answer. Use 2 charged electric plates and if the cathode ray consists of negatively charged particles it will bend towards the positively charged plate (negatively charged...

Late Round Offers & Alternative Pathways

Ok, quite a number of people have been buzzing around talking about non-awards courses, pathways, diplomas and transfers as being alternative methods to get into a course despite a low uai. Can someone please explain these options in detail.

whos packin it right about now???

I think schools should organise yearly meetings for year 12's for the careers adviser to explain the options avaliable to those who dont acheive their expected UAI. There is so much confusion about what lies beyond the HSC.

What to drop for year 12?

Just stick with the subjects that you like the most, if you like every subject you do then you wont need a saftey net because you will do well in all of them. However if you decide to do 4unit maths then it would be wise for you to keep a saftey net subject. I know many people that chose 4unit...

When to use the Right-Hand-Palm Rule, and not.

Yep thats what i do, when its a negatively charged particle moving i just put the direction of my thumb in the opposite direction to its movement.
