Chances of making this transfer? Please help!

yeah they do take uai into account, but its more of a 75 uni/25 uai split but the wam is really important - it really does need to be a credit at least

Chances of making this transfer? Please help!

really? i would say otherwise - i know for business its a WAM of at least 65-75. i'm guessing with a double degree it would probably be the same. they may take your uai into account but it will be primarily based on uni marks.

    Bachelor of Science Information Technology

if you have questions, post them up here - i'm fairly knowledgable about the course. each subject costs about $950 (changes every year with inflation etc). you do 4 subjects a semester and 8 subjects a year.. the BScIT goes for 3 years with a extra year for the diploma (where you get paid)

    BIT UTS Cut-Offs

its important - they want people who are well rounded and aren't huddled in a dark room lit by a screen their entire life... sports, clubs, societies, peer support, yaa, etc are all good examples. you don't have to be a superjock, it's the participation that counts. they want people who can...

    BIT UTS Cut-Offs

they don't really release that information, especially about the interview. as it is dependent on the entire cohort, which varies from year to year, it actually is really hard to pinpoint the lowest mark. in my year the marks for UAI went as low as 85, but as long as youre able to get over 90...

    Mathematics involved in BScIT/BIT

The Bachelor of Science in IT is the main course which covers both computer science and information systems - it's pretty much what major you do dictates the level of maths involved. Someone who takes a data analytics major or networking major will probably have more complex maths involved than...

    uws->uts BscIT/Bbus: need those who've done this

    1) you can put that you were a couple of marks away if there is a reason but they will be able to see that when you apply. tbh they probably won't care. 2) you need at least a credit average - the course can be competitive to get into, and they want to make sure that you are capable of...

    Mathematics involved in BScIT/BIT

The only maths is simple math in programming. As long as you have the logical way of thinking (ie, can do 1+1, 1-1, 1/1, 1x1) you're pretty much set. UTS:IT doesn't need heaps of maths in their main IT degrees so you won't need to do a bridging course unless you really want to.

    BIT Applications '09

yep - it was 33 for 2008, but then dropped to 23 for 2009. A lot of sponsors have dropped out due to GFC, so it wont be up around the 30s for a loooooong time.

    BIT Applications '09

As far as I know the entry is UAI is 90+ with interview. Your interview is usually weighted more than the UAI - I know people who got massively high UAIs who didn't get in because they bombed the interview. There are people in my year who got mid 80s - but in saying that you should try and go as...

    BIT Applications '09

lol no way is it 35 places! it usually averages mid-high 20s. I'm guessing it will be around that for next year. One of the girls in my year went through the Qld School system, and as far as i know she just put in her QLD results for the application. There's no different to which round you...

    B Bus / B ScIT 09'

Realistically theres nothing reaaaaaaaaally stopping you, but for BIT i would recommend doing those 4, you have industry talks (learn about sponsor companies) so you need to have them as consistent as possible to make it as easy as possible to organise those.

yes but you need to make sure that you fulfill all the prereqs. the one in the handbook is in the order it is to make sure you cover prereqs for other subjects. its highly recommended and enforced that you go. camp staff do know who don't attend if you think that they will be oblivious. its...

    First-Year IT Camp 2009

it doesn't matter what course are in, you pretty much have to go unless you've got a good reason.. if you can't go, then speak to jenny donovan at jenny@it.uts.edu.au. but you probably don't realise how helpful the camp is until afterwards... because you meet people from different courses...

pretty much its just to get to know everyone else in IT degrees so you don't freak at heaps of people in your first lecture.. it's not really that year 7ish in terms of the way its structured, but they have seminars about courses and theres a few group activities to get to know everyone else...

yes!!!! acceptance to the BIT course

I agree, there are many pathways apart from BIT to get into IT, and the BScIT is probably the best one for that. The big drawcard of industry experience is there as well, but it is done in a different way to BIT as you have to go out and get your own job rather than being given the connections...
