it depends on the kind of person you are, and how abstract the historiography u r doing is (post-modernists...dont get me started ;D) its not the work load thats big, but rather the amount of work u do is dens, and compacted into a small amount of time i recon

there are 12 altogether at my school, two classes modern and ancient - we had heaps before that tho, but people lost interest i guess, especially with the chunky major work

I absolutely agree, pompeii and herculaneum was just incredibly boring, but my teacher did her best and we cant ask anything more i suppose, but the ethical side of the topic was very interesting, and the sources were alright, nothing to hard i thought, but we will see

i have some notes on tacitean characterisation, but i havent typed them up, authors are syme, martin and mellor, let me know if that will help you and i will type them and put them on, if uve got anything, please let me know, mayb we can swap...:)

i only do ancient, and it was the same in yr elven, and im doing fine with the modern historiography, i think you should give it a go, but like previously said, id stick with a modern major work subject if i was you, but go for it, and good luck, i hope u enjoy :)
