Because they make special provisions for gifted students, and I think the majority of those would have been 3cp's (ie maths units), from memory he was doing 5 maths courses this semester:

5*3+2*6=27cp's

Which isn't hugely overloading.

ADSL modem came in via courier just then... though my line is not activated yet

i really need to buy a friggin USB hub, coz otherwise i would have to share my two USB ports between printer, camera, phone and modem.

hmmmm... just say, for example, if i have the USB modem for now and in the future i wanna share my internet across two computers... would it be difficult to plug the USB modem into a NIC and then just link two comps thru each other's network cards?

well, with usb adsl modems you will have to use your computer to share the internet.

That is, your computer will have to be switched on for the other computers to use the internet. However, if you got a modem with buit in NIC you can bypass the computer.
