I had an idea of the concept.

It was all on the concept. I was planning to write a lot more than 1.5 pages except I ran out of time. I had not even finished.

What happened??? Did you run outa time? Didn't know what to do? Just having a bad day??

Hey, honestly, it's not too late! And this is from a person who has considered on many occasions getting out of the HSC!

Just keep trying and try speaking with your teacher, and get them to go through the stuff you did wrong and what you did right! (There must be at least 1 thing right?? Or maybe they got the mark wrong and you were really supposed to get 11?). Try practicing the paper again and see if without the pressures of the exam atmosphere whether you can do a bit better!

Good luck whatever you do! TRY to have some faith in yourself! The HSC is not the end of the world! And if you're thinking of doing something like not continuing the HSC; don't make a decsion while you are feeling like this, because it would be even worse if you knew that your mood and feelings (of sadness, and failure, maybe angry?) were making the decision for you!

Take your time in making a decision! There IS still time to turn marks around or to make a decision as to whether the HSC is for you! :)

Try not to get down on yourself! I know from personal experience; it doesn't help! :(

Edit: Just saw your msge above ^ Practice is the best way to help with time management! :uhhuh: Just keep going over last papers or redo the same one, and practice using your time effectively and try sticking to the recommended time! I know it's not easy but practice makes perfect or near perfect anyway! :)

When Sir handed the essay section back I looked at the mark and scrunched it up and threw it in the bin.

He he i havent got marks back yet, but we just did practise ones too. Sect 2 and 3 were on the first day. I wrote a 7.5 page essay....however i did not write a narrative at all. I figure why spend 20 minutes trying to think of a story line when you could be writing the essay.

My teacher was so frustrated with me lol

I studied all holidays for it. And I just got 1 mark.

I was almost going to punch the brick wall. I wasted all holidays thinking I was going to do well and after the exam I felt that I did well and even the incomplete essay would get a few marks.

All the exam was crap. All the marks.

A journey is going from one place to another. Journeys are more than the final destination. Journeys are made up of different defining parts and experiences that a journeyer must encounter, and these parts and experiences maybe more important than the final purpose of the journey. This idea will be discussed and analyised with the use of three texts, these being the film Rabbit Proof Fence by Phillip Noyce, the journey of Noah in the bible and finally the book cover from The Ivory Trail found in the Board of Studies Stimulus Booklet.

That was the intro.

IMHO the intro doesn't flow, there is just too much stop/start.

No matter what you write, you should get more than 1/20 in english. Your teachers must be hard markers. English is just one of those subjects where the teachers can give you such a wide range of marks that you can't complain about. english is gonna pull my uai down i know but it doesn't mean you should stop trying in the hsc altogether

You should still do the story you moron. The creative piece is worth as much as the AOS essay. Paper 1 that we sat i got 14/15, 14/15 and 13/15; unseen texts, creative and AOS respective. Personally i think thats a little harsh but one guy got 1/15 its just subjctive whether the teacher thinks you have progressed. 13 was top for our AOS our teacher is tough, you should get a good thesis that you can mould in your head and practise..

the average for my school was 6/15, the really smart kids got 12/15, i got 10/15

my teacher said it works like a logarithm english marking, she goes 0 to 5 is much easier than 5-10, or 10-15, because to get 15/15, the market has to never find a fault in your work, never question his/herself on somethings sense, or expansion on

i don't think you should drop HSC, you still have heaps of time to improve. if you talking about shit mark, i got shitter one. i got zero out of 15 for my half yearly creative writing section. 0 out of 15! then i argued with the teacher to the point he got so annoyed at me he finally gave me one mark.

What was this in Standard English or what?? Next time post things were they are meant to go. Explain how its possible to get below 4 in that section did you not do part of it? Does ur school mark extremely hard? You need to compare yourself to ppl in ur class and in your school cause different schools mark at different levels

The top mark in the school for Standard English was 60%

I was really embarrassed because the teacher was calling out the marks infront of the entire class and when it got to me not only was I shocked I felt really angry. It pissed me off and I almost wanted to tell them to f**k off but I would have been sent to the cooling off room.
