how long does a 12 marker have to be, and does it have to be 3 body paragraphs?? (small intro + body paragraphs + 1-2 sentence conc)
and how many examples should each body paragraph have?

(my modern prelim consists of a 25 marker essay followed by a 5-8-12 question in three parts, but whenever i make practice 12 marker essays they end up being way too long and resemble my 25 markers, so i'm wondering what not to do)

okay, I have no idea how this works for any other subject but for my Geography 15 marker essay my teacher said

(1) Introduction (Thesis, outlining 2 arguments = 3 sentences)
(2) Two Body Paragraphs with 2-3 pieces of evidence (200 words per)
(3) Conclusion (Restating thesis, summarising 2 arguments = 1-3 sentences)

... is the structure she would be looking for.

but that's just my school and me. when in doubt, clarify with your teacher. did they not give essay guidelines beforehand?

yes we did get them, only that they were a little vague. and when i did hand 12 mark examples to my teacher she did mark them but didn't comment on their length but comparing them to my 25 marker they look really long

i'll email my teacher today to ask, thanks
