1st and 2nd (1 Viewer)

this has probly been asked b4 but...
ive heard rumours that if the ppl ranked 1st and 2nd in a particular subject r really close and then the 2nd person beats the 1st person in the HSCexam that they will take 1st place... is this true?? and if so wuld he just have to beat em or smash em?

i think if the second person were to beat the first person in externals by more than the first person beat the second person in internals, then the second person would come first overall. however, this all depends on how well everyone else in the school does in externals. if similar to internals, then the above should hold true.
