Could someone please clarify if this was the content you learned in Quantitative Methods A and more importantly, was it taught in this sequence. I'm assuming that it goes one topic per week since there are 14 topics and about 14 weeks to a session?

Topic 1 Revision of functions
Topic 2 Applying simple and compound interest
Topic 3 More about interest
Topic 4 Present value calculations
Topic 5 Internal rate of return and introduction to annuities
Topic 6 The annuity due and loan amortisation
Topic 7 Revision, more amortisation and general annuities
Topic 9 The purpose of matrices
Topic 10 Basic matrix operations
Topic 11 Solving matrix equations
Topic 12 Possible outcomes from reduction
Topic 13 Charateristics of solutions and determinants
Topic 14 The main uses of determinants

Does this sound right..?

Hi chloe,

Heres an excerpt from the course outline in session 1 2005.

I'm assuming it'll be something similar.

Why do you ask?

I'm being tutored in 2 unit over the summer so that I can learn maths before I start Commerce... I did general maths in hsc so now trying to catch up.. and its doubtful that ill learn two years of maths in 5 or so weeks so im trying to figure out what order i should learn things so that im at least always up to date with whats going on in the course if that makes sense.. it makes sense in my head :p

hmm.. I see,

I'll suggest learning series and sequences first, then calculas, they're probably the most relevant to qma.

Na, thats my one last year... if u have time, there's always PASS at uni (classes ran by students :p).
They're really good, for notes and extra examples.
