2.7 Perform an investigation to demonstrate the production and reception of radio waves
This experiment was conducted by Mr. Ewings. He set up an induction coil and made sure it was giving a reliable spark. He then got a radio, extended its antenna as much as possible, and plugged it into a wall socket about 1m from the induction coil. He then turned the radio on, and put it on static (i.e. made sure he did not receive any stations). Then he varied the induction coil spark length, and the static sound emitted by the radio distorted and changed as he tampered with the induction coil. This represented that the radio antenna was receiving EM waves which had originated from the induction coil. As he moved further away, the signal strength deteriorated significantly according to the inverse squared law, and the variations in the static were not as easily distinguishable.

We performed the same experiment that tommykins described.
