Are sac students generally encouraged to only have
one cross-cultural component.. and is more than one
just thought of as "a bit difficult"to do??

Oh I see what you mean..

I will have my main cross-cultural as "age" (I was thinking
generation, but age allows me to specify further my responders'
age group) and social environment

yeh, i agree wif noir. u should only have one major one in your PIP but you can always make casual reference to the other one if it assists in discussing your topic.
however, if you don't NEED two, you shouldn't really do two cos it really will get difficult.
e.g. in my PIP, i'm doing rites of passage and my main cross-cultural is Filipino-girls' rite of passage "Debut/Cotillion", however, i occassionally mention the Quinceanera from Spain, which the Debut/Cotillion is derived from.
