3b)i) Well given the remainder when P(x) is divided by x+1, then P(-1)=-11 and we can then say P(-1)= (-1+1)(-1-3)Q(-1) + a(-1+1) +b
-11=b
ii) P(3)= (3+1)(3-3)Q(3)+a(3+1) -11
1=4a-11
12=4a
3=a
Remainder is 3x-8

4b)ii)
Since POQ is a right angle then mOP*mOQ=-1

m<sub>OP</sub>= ap<sup>2</sup>/2ap=p/2

similarly m<sub>OQ</sub>=q/2

pq/4=-1
pq=-4

y=apq=-4a, the locus of R is y=-4a

6a)ii) AD=2r because since DBF is 90', hence AD subtends a right angle at B by angles on a straight line being supplementary.
