COMP1011 80 D (prelim) [exam 38/60, ass1 14.5/15, ass2 10.3/15, rank 48/243] ive no idea how they added these marks to get 80?

aren't you yosi? I remember richard in the very last lecture mentioning your name and giving you some (worthless) prize...:D

...thats if your yosi....:p
OIY! My name is pronounced "Jose" (think spanish). I'd just like to assert my masculinity, unlike the way the name was mispronounced ;)

Was wondering if they actually give rankings for everyone in the class. I wasnt sure since that havent happened on any of my classes before..

oh and hey, that prize (story book) will one day be read by my offsprings.. or clones even :).

Thanks :D Yep they're rankings. The top score was 93 I think. And I don't think this lecturer scales marks....but no way of knowing for sure since he doesn't release the final exam marks.

The rest of the maths results have been released for me:

MATH2509 (Linear Algebra for Engineers) - 90 (HD)
MATH2520 (Complex Analysis) - 83 (D)
MATH2859 (Probability & Stats) - 92 (HD)

Strange, I thought I did better in the MATH2520 exam than in the MATH2859 exam.

That depends on the subjects. For example, topping train assignment in 1711 gets you a triangle bell (not sure what it's called), topping cards assignment gets you a story book blessed by Richard's signature, and topping merit list gets a golden star sticker.

Then the top 5 students by official marks get invited to an afternoon tea (which means free food, equivalent to bags of chocolates), and the top 20 or something gets sent a letter by the HOS.

And for the other subjects, i wouldn't know. It's not like acct lecturers will actually invite you for an afternoon tea discussing accounting concepts tho :p
