= sine rule

x/9.8 = sin 37/15

= sin37/15 X 9.8

=0.393185815

=Shift Sin 0.393185815 = 23.15287593

17 = A

25b) i) - mean = 520, SD = 30.. 490 - 550 = 34% + 34% = 68%
ii)- 490 = 1 sd below mean, 460 = 2 SD below ...so 460
Sorry, not good at explaining this one..id need to draw it.

i have looked at the worked answers and cannot work out for some questions how it was done.

26 C iv
27 B,

Q17. SINE RULE
what you do is:
1. sin x/9.8 = sin37 /15
2. [move 9.8 to the left, as u want to solve for x]...
sin x = sin37/15 (times) 9.8. this equals to : 0.393185815
3. now, to got x, you have to move the sin. press shift on ur calculator n then the sin button, and thats it. answer is 23 = a

Q.24 C
1. 5/2 = 2.5 (first captured and marked over the tagged ones in the second capture)
2. 2.5 X 10 = 25 (multiply the answer from part 1 with how many of them were captured in the second capture)
therefore, theres approx 25 of them.

Q 25 B (I & II)
mean= 520mm, st.dev= 30mm
i. it asks between 490 and 550.
so; 490 - 520/30 : gives a z-score of -1
550 - 520/30 : gives a z-score of 1
the percentage between these 2 z-scores are 68%... u jst have 2 memorise these (refer 2 ur textbook)

ii. between 2 standard deviations mean that the z-scores are -2 and 2.
you substitute; -2 = x - 520/30 ---- when u simplify, the x is 460 mm
this is the minimum length that the farmer will accept.

Q 26 C (IV)
1. angular distance is: 28+151 = 179 degrees
2. time difference = 179 x 4/60 : 11 hours, 56 min
3. therefore, 17+11:56 = 4:56 am

Q 27 B
cos O(theat.) = a/h --- cos 63 = x/24 --- simplify it, and x = 10.9 km

here u go!!! i dnt believe i was actually botherd 2 do all dat, but i guess i know how it feels 2 b helpless... since im in d same situation

all u do is 90 - 27 = 63...
then,
cos 63 = x/24 to get d answer...

You did Q26 C wrong.

It's 151-28=123
123/15=8.2hrs
8.2hrs - 5:00 =8:48

i) There are six sides to the rectangular prism so you have to find out the area of all the six sides then add them together

so it would be 2{x(9-x) + x(9-x) + x^2}

ii)it is only valid with values from 0 to 9 because you cant have negative values for the lengths such as for the side 9-x, you cant have any positive value exceeding nine and the other sides, you cant have a negative number as a value

iii) answer is x =6

iv) Do you guys do differentiation?

28 (c) (iv) - no need for differentiation. Substitute x = 6 into the formula for surface area.

uhm, i gotsa question....but not from the SCCA paper... jst generally...
wif algebra... how do we simplify fractions, especially wen theres a minus, division or addition between em...

E.g.
x/3 - 7/5 = 9/10 - x/2

i realllyy get confusedd... can sum1 plz give tips.

p.s. to those who r gnna say 'go on a new thred this is bout CSSA', im only tryn 2 iincrease my chances of receiving a reply...
thnx
