dunno about artexpress. I havent been told anything

all ur artworks rock! (yeah i thought id say something nice and general just to cover the one that i havent seen) but seriously they are awesome.

so glad i dont have to think about mine any more. i never really took pictures of it and i dont have any on my pc but ill try and explain it like i have many times before in vain.

it was inspired by a love of tango music (and the tango lesson by Sally Potter) and dance and the work on shadows by sure webster and tim noble. i had little tango dancers made out of thin foam core board on a record. i made a turntable out of a wooden box and a motor and i also put in speakers which played tango music through an mp3 player. it also had a bendy light on it which casted shadows onto a wall behind it.

there's not much meaning behind it, i just really like tango music (look up piazzola or pugliese) and the dance and wanted to recreate the atmosphere of a milonga. i guess some could say that it resembles a zooitribe (if thats how its spelt) and me wanting to enjoy the simple stuff.

i grew to hate it by then end of the course but the shadows are pretty effective when the room is as dark as possible (duh) and the music is crucial to it looking good. I had to send it away and im shit scared that i didnt pack it well enough because it was pretty fragile but i guess thers not much i can do about it now.

anyway i don't care if u dont read that, i wouldnt bother lol. i didnt have a picture so i decided to write a thousand words instead.

Anyone else found out yet whether or not they are up for consideration for Art Express?

You will know if your work hasnt't been sent back with everyone else in your school.
Have yours come back? When do they get sent back?

The Simitation Generation

Created in the game The Sims 2 'The Simitation Generation' blurs the line between virtual life and reality, allowing the individual to live out their dreams and desires as Creator in the simulated world. We as humans are constantly yearning for a greater sense of purpose and control over our destiny. My generation (Generation Y) has come to expect instant and virtual gratification as they vicariously escape the problems of the world by 'playing' it away. My work begs to ask the question "Who is really in control?"

your concept and video are both fantastic!

ITA, my teacher is so cool we have so much in common, we end up talking about TV or movies during class. And if you just follow the guidelines, Art really is a breeze. Its my happy subject that i will def. get a band 6 (hopefully i havent jinxed myself) in and hopefully pull up my UAI.

I got preselected too so id better show everyone my work.

What i did was 6 digitally painted posters, and 3 resin soldiers in seperate packaging (again digitally done then printed).

Sadly i dont have any photos of the models but here are my 6 posters.

Or if you want to look at em without clicking on a thousand links, I have them on my website using a much better gallery system.
(starts 4th pic along)

As you can see my body of work was a big parody on how propoganda is intertwined with society.
As you can see it was a very time consuming body of work.
Not to mention i was originally planning to have a 3 min animation as well.........
