Hey guys, was wondering if anyone can help me understanding the working out for these questions: 23b (literally don't understand how to do absolute error), 23e, 24b)a,b,c, 28)a.ii,iii,iv (was literally confused with this one)

Here, we need a measurement of 1.25 L = 1,250 mL, accurate to the nearest 10 mL. In other words, we need to measure between 1245 mL and 1254.999... mL, as these are the only values that we would round to 1,250 mL (to the nearest 10 mL). Thus, our largest possible absolute error is 5 mL, as if we are out by more than this, the volume will round to either 1,240 mL or 1,260 mL (to the nearest 10 mL), and so be unacceptable:

We have a bar graph, which we interpret by looking at how long is the bar, and how long is the section representing each choice. Here, using a ruler, the bar is 9.0 cm long and the 'pizza' section is 3.5 cm long. So,


Now, the bar graph represents 450 people, so it is this percentage of 450 that we need:
