Mb grade 9 rcm is grade 8 abrsm, I did abrsm in Syria and rcm in Russia then switched back to abrsm. Theres not a significant difference either way.
I'm actually done with piano- I am going to finish hopefully half way through this year but the only thing i'll actually do is teach and play fun songs- P.S. I have multiple issues with my body and hands/ forearms which is making it harder for me to play D:

How are you grade 8 and have issues with your hands to play?

I wish i could tell you- but i played this one piece at the beginning of last year for an assessment and it caused stabbing pain and inflammation in a tendon, and instead of it just healing in a couple weeks it affected every other tendon and it came up in my other hand somehow, so now certain pieces are hard to play and i tire out easily compared to a couple years ago when i had good stamina whilst playing. And i've been to physio and allat because it became unbearable and they literally said oh well- that was last year- and now they are blaming it on the fact that one of my fingers is weak (which in my opinion it isn't) even though it is in multiple fingers and they can't really do anything for me unless other symptoms start to come up more frequently than they have been.

Playing with a hurt finger isnt uncommon so that shouldnt stop you. Plus piano is the most beautiful instrument.

It didn't stop me but it's been a year and it isn't really healing- it's kinda getting worse and affecting daily tasks.
Piano is beautiful sure- but i'm also trying to learn other instruments like guitar, drums, and vocals because i feel you can do more with them in terms of modern day pieces/songs.

A day late but @enlargedthroat and everyone else in the convo...yap session ahead.
I finished grade 4 ameb piano last year. Basically finished grade 5 (trinity) except the exam isnt till October, so I've started grade 6. I've almost finished grade 2 theory (ameb/my teacher).
I've got a really small pinky (like 4cm long), so I cant play a bunch of classical pieces... T-T like rachmaninoff is out the question lmao.
My dream is to one day play Winters Wind by Chopin or like any Chopin pieces in general... I love romantic era artists yk.
I've been playing since was 8 however was too big of a wuss to start grades until I was in yr 8, which I beat myself up for on the occasional. I could've been pro game bro :(

People who are genuinely good at piano dont play much modern music.
I play classical and have for a few years but i'm in a Rock band so i need to know both sides- It's also just what i find more entertaining as more people (that i'm surrounded by) know more modern songs than classical.
