yeah tbh i still dont see the difference between eng adv and std other than scaling :pold: although i wonder why it wouldnt be plausible to move from std to advanced, i mean, technically we're doing the same coursework atm so the transition wouldnt be too terrible.
THATS WHAT I'M SAYING! GRRRR LEMME UP THERE CHAT. LEMME UP THERE! GET ME OUT OF THE COURSE WITH THESE PLEBIANS /j

see thats what surprises me, biology is the most popular even though (for me at least) its the hardest science. physics is 100x more straightforward yet it has way less people that do it compared to bio :( tbh tho i cant be talking i dont do physics LOL i think i just have a lot of spite built up for bio
wait off topic but i see u do japanese continuers for hsc prelims right?
how is the course like in terms of content? is it more interesteing or do we learn the same things but more complex?? (eg harder version of family, house, and direction topics)

tbh during a speaking assessment you'll never be asked for directions so no need to worry about that. family may be asked, same with house, but those probably wont be the 'main' questions you'll be asked so its ok to have brief and even basic responses for those. you'll usually be asked about stuff like hobbies, what you do at school or with your friends- stuff related to your daily routine and i guess life in a broader sense
and the same applies for writing or reading, its mostly texts of people recalling something about their routines or a recent event (i got one about a pillow fighting event lol) or you need to write a letter, speech, diary entry etc about something to do with your daily life/some event that happened recently (i was asked to write about any recent event in school once).
so whoops a bit of a yap but its good to recognise family terms, stuff about your house and directions but they'll mainly be integrated into other topics like routine, hobbies, what you do at school

bio is for the people who dont wanna fully dedicate themselves to the mathematical side of stem. jokes
but bio is typically presumed knowledge for a lot of uni courses, its the most recommended science within y11 letters, and a lot of people are interested in psych nowadays, so that may be a contributor. thats just my assumption though

bro i got one about a pillow fighting event too! The company that made the exam made the two texts for reading quite confusing

I feel like one on the reasons why I picked bio was cause I did this comp about the brain and I liked that stuff but there’s literally nothing abt the brain in bio

correct me if im wrong but i heard that was on a yr 12 module? I heard from a friend-
Idk maybe there is a small part but I’ don’t think so. Cause the modules are genetics, infectious and non infectious diseases, technologies, etc. I think they might go int alzheimers disease or smth which is prob the most brain stuff they go into. But I dropped bio so idc anymore
