i was looking at the course enrollments for 2025, and while most subjects between both male and female students are rather equal (save for physics… hey girls, especially ones in all girls schools, does physics typically run for you? What stopped you or your peers from choosing physics?) why is it that biology has almost double the female students?

also heres the website if you wanna check it out: https://www.nsw.gov.au/education-and-training/nesa/hsc/facts-and-figures/enrolment-data/courses
my school runs it. both my schools did (i know my current one does, im pretty sure my old one does too)

biology is more common bc lots of people want to go into courses that need biology as a prereq eg nursing or anything in the med field
engineering is still a common course that people want to do in uni ofc but not as much as things to do with med in my school (hence why we have 1 class for physics and 3 for biology)
Yeah, it’s honestly pretty hard to find courses that require something like chem or physics as a prerequisite, and I think because bio is not as mathematical as the other sciences it’s tremendously more popular.
I like biology personally as it relates to my everyday life, we see evolution, genetics, diseases ect everyday.
Can’t speak for physics, but chemistry is less applicable in everyday life.

I can’t say we’re getting to the root of bio being more popular with women, but maybe men aren’t as interested?

i fell victim to this too and chose biology over physics bc i wanted to pursue med in yr 10 👍👍
don't we have 4 or at least we used to for bio

my skl always has 1 class for physics. Bio has the most with i think 3-4 classes then comes chem 3 small classes currently.
I'm not sure why tho... there are def a bunch of bio kids who would be goated at physics.

ooo maybe a reason is females choosing science tend to go into health care side after hs. Maybe not many wanna go into something that needs physics e.g engineering

guys what's the best, cheapest seats at Qudos Bank Arena. Is D to far away?
Usually D is the very back but any seat is Qudos is decent. My hack is get the side view if u don’t mind it, u get closer for cheaper (depends on the show tho, I would not recommend side view for big visual shows)
