guys why do u think the education system sucks? Im gonna make my mod C discursive about it

This is for english specifically, but if you want to score well in any module, you have to write about what nesa wants you to write about instead of what you actually believe is correct. Like there is no way I could argue that poetry is an inefficient source of literature and is inferior in every way compared to essays/narratives without getting marked badly by hsc markets etc.

Otherwise, the education system is 'fine' because no subject other than english is mandatory

bro someone in my school wrote about how their eng teacher sucked and he was the one who marked it and still did fine so honestly as long as the execution of the writing his fine I don't see why. Cause it's not about what the markers agree with cause that would make it way to subjective and they can;'t let their opinions dictate their marking

Every time I write a discursive essay about something that doesn't politically align with left-wing values, I get marked badly because a majority of english teachers tend to align that way. I've gotten as low as 6/20 on those sorts of essays while still answering the question and directly addressing the stimulus which is fucked because I usually get 14-15/20 when I write something performative that english teachers/nesa desires.

maybe that's a problem with ur eng department. Our school encourages us to pick different view points to write our essays and stuff so that we're not writing the same generic thing that everyone writes about

And also our eng department at least always preaches about non conformity, questioning societal expectations, values, etc and stuff so if im not putting that into practice and questioning things then what;s the point of learning about all this stuff

bro I hate nesa so much. Like this is not 1984 and I have the freedom to express whatever opinion I want to. Like they are so inconsistent in what they preach and what they allow us to do. Like is education not an integral part of the human experience

but surely if I talk about the emotions that we feel and teh restriction under the education system that is still. reflecting me as a human right cause im discussing my thoughts, feelings, opinions just in the context of school. My discursive isn't just straight out dissing the education system tho

Also for mod C and like all the modules in general, all the hsc markers need to have like a general consensus about what they expect of us and what stuff we shouldn't write about cause I swear it's different for every marker which makes it so subjective. Like their marking criterias are so broad and subjective and that's something they need to fix. Cause I could write something that my teacher loves, jsut for another teacher to hate it

no its boring and cliche, i mean you can if you want (which you obviously are) but dont expect a b6 or a b5, maybe low-mid b5 if marker is in a good mood

Whatever your english department does, just try not to provoke the hsc markers into marking you down to oblivion. Its better to play it safe because you don't know what they like/expect.

That's the issue with art so you have to do a broadish theme so anyone can understand it whilst not being too radical or anything

You should try to write something more thought provoking to the audience, it's very hit or miss that you'll get marked well whilst indirectly speaking bad about the markers/teachers. They are humans too so will have lower preference and tolerance if you are talking about how they can't do a good job because of how messed up the system is even if not directly writing abt it. The entire topic is too controversial

yeah that's what im doing. Im not talking about the teachers im talking about the system in general so it's not their fault. I just wanna write something provocative and say plath inspired me period.
