@ALolly or @f7eeting
Does the formula:

(n/6)(n+1)(2n+1) appear in adv specifically acting as an "integration by first principle"?
It pops up in mathematical induction which is an 3u topic so for 2u is it just an unnecessary proof?
Am I overdoing this?
can you show me the question so i can see how its being applied?

Oh I will understand how it is derived I just wanted to know if I'll get penalized by doing stuff like that. Thanks!
ohhh well no because its perfectly fine to use stuff from the ext 1 course in adv so you wont get penalised.
even the hsc has out of syllabus answers considered as valid so it should be fine

Finding the roots which I can add to my list to learn. Hence why I was going to ask you for revision material on all of this. For my plan all content for all subjects must be finished no later than week 5 which gives me time to go back to previous modules as well as clean up the stuff I skipped on the year 11 ext syllabus and hopefully do 1 topic of year 12. That means my holidays after hsc can be used to practice instead of learning and hence I still get to live my best life whilst not going to university and having a replay of year 10
damn well if you ever need material or somebody to teach you i can help (except for perms and combs........)!
i think you can learn all the ext 1 content pretty easily tbh and within a pretty short span of time.
i lowkey didnt understand anything about yr 11 ext and was about to drop it until a few weeks before prelims when i locked the hell in and somehow learnt everything and managed to get 2nd highest, so im sure you can do the same too lol :)

And its the most useless branch of math either way
yeah it is really useless lmao but i guess it did push me to think in a way i hadnt rlly done with other topics 🙃

Can you tell me what to start with for the year 12 syllabus? I have a few year 11 exercises scattered around but I really don't think they will be full on assumed knowledge level.
induction id say is worth learning, it is mainly just algebraic manipulation buttt it does introduce you to how to structure proofs and also can help with getting familiar with sums.
also vectors!! its a very important topic especially if you're looking to do mechanical engineering
also learning ext 1 integration should also put you in a very good position for uni

haha I'm not sure about a short span of time. Mostly I'll only be doing bits of ext on weekends when I'm not super locked in for my actual subjects. I kind of want to see what's in ext 2 but I'll deal with some more of ext1 first.
ext 2 can be suchhh a pain but when i tell you its the most rewarding subject ever!!
i think its worth looking into complex at the very least, its a very nice topic and ive heard its also in a lot of university engineering courses

That's tbd still. I've heard vectors are really hard....
vectors can get pretty tricky at times and it took me a while to get the hang of it but it ties into soo much other topics, so understanding it is definitely worth the struggle

Today:
Finish indefinite integrals
Finish trig eqn&graphs
Do some of my English primary draft

extra work:
Gain the fullest extent of confidence in pH calcs
Continue on with 5.1 physics calcs
Figure out what on earth I'm actually supposed to study for art
I feel like we need to start a major work accountability thread cause I procrastinate so much on that stuff especially cause it isn’t like something like math where u know exactly what u need to do ykwim
