theres still a good amount of time to study for both 3u eng/math i reckon but ofc its your choicenah too hard for me i reckon
Hi everyone,
I am in year 10, and i'm quite stressed at the moment about what subjects to pick, especially on how many units of eng and maths to do.
Currently I have put down 3u eng, 3u maths, bio, chem, and economics (dropping econ in yr 12 i think bc only minimum 10units is required in yr12 and i want to do the least units possible)
But im also thinking if i do good in 2u eng advanced and 2u maths advanced it would put me in a better position/higher atar
Can anyone give any advice at all on if this is a good choice of subjects and anything you have to say about it or if I should do 2u eng advanced and 4u maths idk porbs not
I also do music and my music teacher has constantly told me to choose music but I think I would perform better in econ and it is a better scaled subject.
For uni, Im looking into dentistry, general practitioner, vet OR business analytics, economics, commerce
Pls reply asap if you have any comments on this as I am picking subjects real soon
Not sure if this is still relevant, but you may wish to take Music in addition to your existing choices (if possible) to see if you would be able to perform well in this subject, which you can then compare to your performance in Economics, allowing you to make a more informed decision going forward. This can give you more options when you get closer to year 12 and need to determine the best subject combination to maintain for year 12.
Check university websites for their assumed knowledge section, or any subjects that they recommend that you do during high school. Bio is very content heavy, but it is not difficult on the math side (from the few glimpses I've seen of it). If you do chem overlaps with physics slightly, but I don't think it's worth doing physics just for the last module of physics to overlap, especially as chem is more in-depth and deviates away from physics. Advanced maths is easy enough with practice, if you understand year 10 5.3 then you should be ok, just don't bludge it because in advanced you have to stay on-top, because if you don't understand a topic, you are likely to fall behind in the next topic.hi guys i really wanna be a vet after i finish school and i know i need to do adv math, bio and chem. the problem is i heard bio is kinda easy but alot of content and chem is just really hard and also that right now for maths i know i can score well if i do advanced maths for year 12 but if i do extension i will probably drop it unless i lock in which probs wont happen if i have alot of other hard/ content heavy subjects e.g chem and bio. anyone have any thoughts or help??
i did legal and bio. Do u prefer science or humanities? Legal is way more interesting but you write way more. I think bio will fit well with chem but idk i hated bioHey guys!!
I'm also 2027 grad year and i was getting opinions on my subject selection (these are only for year 11)
Also for reference, I'm looking into a career in either law or medicine
If I stay at my current school:
English Adv, Maths Ext 1, Maths Adv, Economics, Chemistry
Studies Of Religion 1
Legal Studies OR Bio (NOT SURE YET)
If I move to James Ruse:
English Adv, Maths Ext 1, Maths Adv, Economics, Chemistry
Drama
Legal Studies OR Bio
If I move to North Sydney Girls:
English Adv, Maths Ext 1, Maths Adv, Economics, Chemistry
Biology
Food Technology OR Health and Movement Science
For reference, my year 12 subjects will be:
English Adv
Maths Ext 1
Maths Ext 2
Economics
Chemistry

But if u really want to then ask ur teachers what they study next yearhi guys does anyone know the texts 2027ers will study in eng advanced cuz like apparently it changed and i want to know if theres anything i can get ahead of in english
Wait which subjects are u picking. Honestly if ur good at chem then pick it cause yr 11 bio can kinda be boring cause it’s all the boring animals stuff like stupid periwinkles.I can’t pick between bio or chem
(I’d do both to see which one I prefer but sounds like my school won’t let me do 14 units)
In my opinionI can’t pick between bio or chem
(I’d do both to see which one I prefer but sounds like my school won’t let me do 14 units)
