Confused as to why youve calculated A2 between the bounds -5 and -2. Since the integral is between -4 and a, should you not disregard any area before -4, and just calculate A2 from -4 to -2 and A1 from -2 to -1? Also for A3, are the two triangles that youve constructed equal? Should the base of one be from -1 to 4 (5 units) and the base of another from 4 to 8 (4 units)? Therefore, should their areas differ as well? When I did this question I got the answer option B.

from -4 to -1, it goes under by 5. from -1 to 8, it goes up by 18

18-5=13

so the rectangle on the right needs to be 13
13/2=6.5

6.5+8 = 14.5
therefore B
